After further reviewing the replays and considering the evidence tendered at the initial inquiry, Stewards sought leave to withdraw the charge under Rule 868(2) against Junior Driver L Hibell (assisted by N Chilcott) in relation to the manner in which she drove KD ROYALTY rounding the final turn. ADORED DREAMER - marginally back from position at dispatch.

Race 7   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION HANDICAP TROT
ALDEBARAN FLAME - pulled hard middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear running early in the home straight before trotting roughly near the 100m having to be steadied.
LAURIES LEGACY - authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld to enable Stewards to view the replays of the final stages with Driver M Wallis (KIWITRIX) (5th place) after this runner was denied a run in the passing lane due to LAURIES LEGACY shifting down into the lane when Driver T Mitchell activated the deafeners. Ms Wallis advised that KIWITRIX had been under pressure at this stage and felt that she would not have beaten LAURIES LEGACY regardless of whether she had the run in the lane or had come out off that runner's back. Placings were duly authorised. Driver T Mitchell was reminded of his obligations to ensure that he takes immediate corrective action to remove his runner from the passing lane given similar circumstances in the future.
LIAISON - lay in and dislodged a track marker near the 1500m.

Race 8   HYDROFLOW MOBILE PACE
HESASHORETHING - over-raced middle stages when outside the leader.
KAHLUA FLYBYE - marginally back from position at dispatch. Driver M McKendry was questioned in relation to the manner in which he had driven rounding the final turn when shifting down from a three wide position to the marker line in search of a run. Mr McKendry stated that KAHLUA FLYBYE was having her first run back from a spell against older horses so he had elected to go back from the outside barrier at the start. He further stated that he had improved three wide on the back of MAGIC FOUR near the 700m but that his filly had lay in rounding the final turn losing MAGIC FOUR's back so he felt his best option was then to shift down to look for clear running along the passing lane but he had then been disappointed for a run to the inside of BETTOR HEIST before battling on into 3rd place. Mr McKendry also added that he was more than satisfied with the performance given how the race had been run.
