Race 3 - TK PLASTERING HANDICAP TROT
At an adjourned hearing held on 6 August, driver R Holmes (QUIK BARBIE) defended a breach of Rule 858(1)(a) alleging that he anticipated the start resulting in his runner breasting the barrier strand causing a delay. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards, Mr Holmes and Starter R Donnelly, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and imposed a fine of $250.
Race 5 - MATT HARRISON CONSTRUCTION MOBILE PACE
Trainer T Yesberg advised Stewards on 6 August that UPTOWN FUNK has been treated for a hoof complaint and muscle tie up following this race and will be sent for a spell.

HIT THE BEACH - driver R Alfeld admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Alfeld's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 20 August 2023 (4 days).
SEARING LIGHT - raced wide without cover from the 1000m.
Race 2   KB ELECTRICS CARAVAN & MOTORHOME ELECTRICAL WOF MOBILE PACE
A GUINNESS ROCK - hung inwards final bend crowding an inside runner.
LIGHT UP THE FIRE - crowded by an outside runner rounding the final bend striking track markers.
SWEET JOY - broke late in the score up losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Broke again near the 1650m losing further ground. A warning was also placed on the racing record of the mare. Weakened final bend.
FLOSSY REIGN - held up early in the run home.

AIMING FOR GLORY - paced roughly final bend.
Race 4   REDPATHS - PLUG IN TO BETTER SERVICE HANDICAP TROT
PAIGE - reared as the start was effected and broke losing ground. Authorisation of placings was withheld until driver S Tomlinson confirmed she had not been denied a fair start.
BUFFY NORTHSTAINS - broke at the start losing ground.
SASSY STAR - broke after 100m losing ground. Broke again near the 900m losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
TRUE CONFESSIONS - trotted roughly passing the 700m losing ground.
T K MEGASTAR - trainer R Holmes was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the mare to race with a pacifier which had not been notified. Broke briefly at the start.
MAKE MY SUNDON - co-trainer J Best advised Stewards the mare has had its stifles treated since last racing.
Race 5   KB ELECTRICS SPECIALISE IN CARAVAN ELECT. CONVERSIONS PACE
The start was delayed when OFF THE EDGE breasted the barrier strand despite the efforts of driver J Cox. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
OFF THE EDGE - briefly locked sulky stays with ARNOLD LAYNE near the 100m having to be steadied.
KENNEDY - held up leaving the final bend and early in the run home.
DON JUAN - driver R May was warned for failing to obey the instructions of the Starter when turning out of line without his permission. Held up throughout the run home.
LET'S GO RINGO - lay out over the concluding stages.
PLAYING WITH STARS - raced wide early.
ARNOLD LAYNE - raced wide early. Briefly locked sulky stays with OFF THE EDGE near the 100m having to be steadied.
STYLE COUNCIL - raced four wide until near the 1300m. Paced roughly passing the 900m having to be steadied by driver K Cameron. Held up leaving the final bend.
WINNYZBACK - raced wide early.
WIND IN THE WIRE - driver S Thornley was warned for failing to obey the instructions of the Starter when turning out of line without his permission. Placed in restricted room near the 100m. Mr Thornley advised the gelding had been striking the sulky wheels throughout.
CHANCE ON ME - driver L O'Reilly was warned for failing to obey the instructions of the Starter when turning out of line without his permission.
FOVEAUX GAMBLER - driver S Tomlinson was warned for failing to obey the instructions of the Starter when turning out of line without his permission. Raced wide early.

LIZZIE RICHTER - when questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised she was pleased with the performance after having to improve wide without cover from the 800m.
WRIGGLES RUFUS - held up final bend and in the early and middle stages of the run home. Driver W House advised the removable gear was not activated in consequence.
ROCK N DIAMONDS - held up final bend.
FAST ACE - raced wide early.
Race 7   NZRVS.CO.NZ - 0210512206 - THE BEST PULL IN TOWN TROT
RACEY KRUSA - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
DD'S SUPER STUART - crowded by an outside runner passing the 650m. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
SUE'S DASH - fractious prior to the start. Broke briefly shortly after the start. Crowded by an outside runner passing the 650m. Held up leaving the final bend.
BRETT'S MATE - shifted inwards crowding inside runners passing the 650m. Driver K Cameron was issued with a warning for the manner in which he drove.
LOVE IS EVERYWHERE - fractious prior to the start and reared before beginning awkwardly.
LOVE POTION - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
A LATE LATE PRESSY - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners. Driver P Wakelin was warned for using her whip on a runner out of contention. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Ms Wakelin advised the mare will be sent for a spell.
NAVARA - paced and broke late in the run home.

SIR MONTY - Stewards opened and adjourned an investigation into the manner in which driver S Thornley drove rounding the first bend when failing to maintain his position in the trail which allowed CHRISLYNN to shift into the vacant trailing position.
BOBBY WATERHOUSE - raced wide early.
FORD RULE - lay inwards and struck a track marker near the 1500m. Held up leaving the final bend.
HES FAST AND FURIOUS - held up leaving the final bend.
MOP - lay inwards and struck a track marker near the 1500m. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
EBURY STREET - paced roughly in the run home.
