Race 1   AUCKLAND VETERINARY SERVICES SUPPORT NI BREEDERS TROT
SANS AU REVOIR - late scratching at 10.40am on veterinary advice.
TOBRUK - broke near the 100m losing its chance. Driver S Cornwall was warned for using his whip free of the rein and with more than a wrist flicking motion on one occasion near the 300m.
KISS MY PIXEL - lay out rounding the final turn despite the efforts of Driver M McKendry.
ALANA - slow early losing ground.
AARDIE'S PEAK - broke passing the 1200m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners.
UNTIL NOW - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.
PRINCE ENVY - broke rounding the first turn losing ground before settling towards the rear. Weakened final turn.
Race 2   COBBITTY EQUINE SUPPORT NI STALLION NIGHT MOBILE PACE
WORKS FOR ME - Driver S Reid was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
SEA OF LOVE - paced roughly near the 600m. Paced roughly again rounding the final turn before breaking and losing all chance. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners.
Race 3   NEVELE R STUD SUPPORT NI STALLION NIGHT HANDICAP TROT
The start was delayed after LIGHTNING MCQUEEN shifted inwards onto JOCA'S HILL when called into line with the field being turned away. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier manners.
MAZEPPA - lay in and contacted several track markers rounding the final turn.
CEEPEEKAY - trotted roughly under pressure over the final 100m.
EAGLE HANOVER - broke approaching the first turn losing all chance. A warning was placed in the filly's racing manners.
JOCA'S HILL - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Lay in entering the first turn contacting track markers and broke losing all chance.
HELSINGOR - lay in and contacted several track markers rounding the final turn. Driver M White advised that the deafeners failed to activate despite his efforts due to the cord becoming entangled.
Race 4   MACCA STUD SUPPORT NI STALLION NIGHT MOBILE PACE
IRON BRIGADE - paced roughly late in the score up and was back from position at dispatch. A warning was placed on the colt's barrier manners. Driver M McKendry was questioned in relation to shifting down into the passing lane approaching the winning post on the first occasion when improving to the inside of PRECIOUS BET to lead. Mr McKendry stated that after losing some ground at the start that IRON BRIGADE had settled to the inside of DANCE STAR, which had moved down onto the back of PRECIOUS BET which was racing wider on the track than a true marker line position and this enabled him to improve to that runner's inside to secure the lead. Driver A Harrison confirmed that her runner had raced greenly over the early stages when reluctant to shift fully down to the marker line. After considering the matter no further action was deemed necessary other than note the circumstances.
PRECIOUS BET - Junior Driver A Harrison (assisted by S Telfer) was questioned regarding the manner in which she drove racing through the front straight to receive the bell where she appeared to ease her gelding which enabled IRON BRIGADE to shift away from the marker line near the 1000m. Ms Harrison stated that her runner had knuckled over in behind near the 1300 so she had steadied the gelding and lost ground as a result which enabled M McKendry to commence to shift away from the marker line as she reached his sulky wheel so she eased her drive as she considered that this was her best option as IRON BRIGADE was the horse to follow. After considering the evidence Stewards took the matter no further other than to remind Ms Harrison to ensure that she drives in such a manner in the future so as to leave no room for query.
MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
PARK LANE - raced wide early.
BUSLOAD OF FAITH - raced wide early.
KEEPERS TOMMY - raced wide without cover from the 1100m. Weakened final turn.
Race 5   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS SUPPORT NI STALLION NIGHT HANDICAP TROT
KIMKAR DASH - lay in and broke near the 900m losing its chance and was retired from the event.
LAURIES LEGACY - broke near the 350m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
LIAISON - Driver D Butcher reported that the near side deafener failed to activate.
KINGS LANDING - trotted roughly entering the first turn losing some ground.
SPRINGBANK MASON - slow over the early stages. Raced wide from the 1200m.
Race 6   ALABAR STUD SUPPORT NI STALLION NIGHT MOBILE PACE
NO ADDED SUGAR - raced wide early.
LOUEZYANA - raced wide early.
BEAUDIENE ROCKNROLL - over-raced middle stages.
Race 7   NZB STANDARDBRED SUPPORT NI STALLION NIGHT 2YO MOB PACE
KADA - weakened final stages. When questioned regarding the performance Driver M McKendry could offer no explanation for the disappointing run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed bruising to the near hind cannon. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
SEASIDE ROSE - Stewards investigated an incident near the 200m where TWISTA broke when contacted by SEASIDE ROSE. After hearing the relative evidence of S Phelan (TWISTA), D Ferguson (SEASIDE ROSE) and viewing the replays it was established that SEASIDE ROSE, which was laying out, had shifted abruptly when Mr Ferguson had activated the deafeners and turned his whip resulting in the contact. Mr Phelan stated that he felt he had the opportunity to shift to accommodate the outward movement of SEASIDE ROSE but that his gelding had not responded to his efforts to move wider on the track thereby contributing to the incident. After considering the evidence Stewards took the matter no further other than to issue a warning to Mr Ferguson for his lack of control in the incident.
MAJOR MAJOR - weakened final stages.
TUALOU - lay in under pressure over the final stages.
LE MAJOR - raced wide early.
LINCOLN COVE - Trainer R Green was issued a $100 Minor Infringement notice for presenting the colt with blinds which had not been notified. Raced wide throughout. Weakened final stages.
TWISTA - raced wide early and middle stages before crossing to the parked position near the 1100m. Checked and broke passing the 200m.
MR BONDI - slow to score up and was out of position at the candy pole. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Over-raced middle stages.
Race 8   BETAVET SUPPORT NI STALLION NIGHT MOBILE PACE
FRANKIE MAJOR - locked wheels with BETTOR HEIST near the 130m losing momentum.
NELSON'S BOY - lost ground approaching the 800m when at the rear.
ZLATO - held up over the final 100m when unable to obtain clear running.
BETTOR HEIST - raced greenly and shifted up the track near the 1750m when leading. Lay in early in the run home and locked wheels with FRANKIE MAJOR near the 130m. When questioned Driver T Cameron stated that he felt the gelding may have shied away from the camera operator's van which was positioned well back on the infield and that connections will be making a gear change prior to resuming.
LINCOLN RIVER - over-raced briefly middle stages when being restrained to obtain cover.
AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE - shifted out on straightening for the run home when Driver M McKendry activated the deafeners but was immediately corrected.
Race 9   WOODLANDS STUD SUPPORT NI STALLION NIGHT HANDICAP PACE
BROOKIES JAFFA - broke briefly at the start.
HESASHORETHING - reared on several occasions when called forward onto the barrier then broke briefly at the start.
Race 10   FRANKLIN VETS SUPPORT STALLION NIGHT MOBILE PACE
MAJOR MEMPHIS - lay in rounding the turns and in particular the final turn contacting numerous track markers. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
BLAZING LOUIE - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Weakened in the run home.
BUGALUGS - back from position at dispatch. Driver N Balle was issued a warning.
