DHONI TROUBLE - broke entering the first turn losing ground before settling in a pace and trailed the field throughout.
ALDEBARAN ALLBLACK - trotted roughly rounding the final turn and throughout the run home. When questioned regarding the performance Driver C Hackett stated that she was disappointed with the filly's effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
ALDEBARAN PIPPI - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.

RED RACKHAM - raced three wide without cover from the 1000m and weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance Driver M White stated that he was disappointed with the gelding's effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Race 3   ROSE'S ALTERATIONS NORTH ISLAND WINTER REWARDS MOBILE PACE
LADY LA SALLE - refused to leave the pre-race formation losing considerable ground and was then unable to fill its position due to a second row runner. Lay in near the 900m and lost contact with the body of the field. Declared a non runner under Rule 213(1)(e) due to unsatisfactory manners prior to the start. The mare was stood down for future mobile starts pending a satisfactory trial.
LETSGODANCING - lost ground racing down the back the final time. When questioned Driver M McKendry stated that the mare had been flat throughout and could offer no explanation.
HAMPTON - gave ground passing the 700m and was retired from the event. When questioned Driver A Poutama advised that this runner had made abnormal respiratory noises during the middle stages and as a result he elected to take the gelding down inside the marker line to clear the trailing runners. A post-race veterinary examination, including an endoscopic procedure, revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing performance.
RORY MCILROY - over-raced when being restrained early.
BUGALUGS - raced wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear.
BARBAROSSA - lay out entering the home straight but was corrected by Driver D Butcher.
PETER FORSBERG - over-raced when being restrained early.
NEYMAR - sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 1600m when there was a slight easing of the pace. Broke near the 500m losing all chance. When questioned part owner J Darby advised that the tyre had come away from the rim with the tube getting wrapped around the wheel hub placing the gelding at a considerable disadvantage. Given the circumstances Stewards took no action against this runner.
PACING HOPE - lost the back of BARBAROSSA near the 1200m then gave ground from the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Trainer A Donnelly was at a loss to explain the disappointing run and advised that she would have blood tests conducted in the coming days and undertook to advise Stewards should anything surface that would explain the performance.
MIKI MIKSTA - paced roughly entering the first turn. Over-raced during the middle stages.
TUGAWAR - raced wide in the early and middle stages before improving to the parked position near the 1000m. Cleared from the unruly for future mobiles.
Race 4   HERON PLUMBING HANDICAP TROT
AARDIE'S PEAK - broke near the 200m losing its chance.
MAJESTIC RUBY - lay in and dislodged a track marker near the 350m then contacted another marker near the 250m.
Race 5   SOUTHERN CROSS PARTNERS 1 WIN GRADUATION FINAL MOBILE PACE
THIRD TIME - Driver S Phelan reported that the gelding has sustained a punctured sulky tyre after contacting its own wheel with the off hind shortly after the start.
CYREN SHARD - weakened in the run home.
IDEAL DELIGHT - raced wide early. Weakened in the run home.
HUGOTASTIC - raced keenly middle stages. Lay out on straightening for the run home and paced roughly when Driver P Ferguson attempted to take the run which had become available in the passing lane and was then shifted outwards to obtain clear racing room.
Race 6   COMMERCIAL REALTY PROPERTY MGMT NI WINTER REWARDS MOB PACE
A false start was declared at the first attempt when NELSON'S BOY broke and checked a second row runner. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. Driver C Hackett elected to retain her barrier position for the restart.
NELSON'S BOY - over-raced middle stages. Checked and broke passing the 800m losing ground. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 500m and lost ground.
MAY DELIGHT - hampered by a breaking runner near the 800m.
PROVISEUR - raced wide early. Pulled hard when outside the leader during the middle stages and lay in rounding the turns. Weakened from the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
HEY MIKI DENARIO - checked and broke passing the 800m losing all chance.
SMOKINHOTCHEDDAR - hampered by a breaking runner near the 800m.
BROOKIES JAFFA - broke passing the 800m when appearing to knuckle over in behind causing a chain reaction back through the marker line with both NELSON'S BOY and HEY MIKI DENARIO being checked and breaking with HEY MIKI DENARIO losing all chance. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld to enable Stewards to review the replays of this incident to ascertain whether there were grounds for a Protest for alleged interference to the 5th placed runner BO DUKE. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Driver A Harrison (BO DUKE), who stated that her chances had not been affected, Stewards did not proceed with a Protest and 4th placing was duly authorised. A warning was placed on BROOKIES JAFFA's racing manners. When questioned regarding the performance Driver T Mitchell stated that the gelding had become worked up with the false start and had raced too keenly which he also attributed to striking its own wheel disc with the near hind.
WHOOSHKA - hampered by a breaking runner near the 800m.
Race 7   DENE BIDDLECOMBE MEMORIAL NI WINTER REWARDS HANDICAP TROT
QUIK SHARNIE - held up early final turn.
ALDEBARAN FLAME - over-raced during the middle stages. Commenced to give ground near the 800m to finish distanced. Co-Trainer/Driver B Hackett advised that a clip on an attachment strap on the half hopples had become detached and hung down around the mare's hind legs placing him at a considerable disadvantage so he did not persevere in the event on entering the back straight the final time. The gear was inspected and found to be in satisfactory condition with no further action deemed necessary.
LAURIES LEGACY - shifted in under pressure late in the run home and had to be corrected by Driver T Mitchell.
Race 8   THE OMAH GROUP MOBILE PACE
AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE - over-raced middle stages. Held up early final turn before being shifted wider on the track to obtain clear running. When questioned regarding the manner in which he had driven over the early stages Driver M McKendry explained that after having restrained out of the gate AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE had then lay in entering and rounding the first turn so he elected to shift to a position three back on the marker line as he felt that this was his best option at the time. Mr McKendry further stated that pulling hard during the middle stages on a slow tempo had taken its toll with the filly coming to the end of her run over the final stages in what was her first race back from a lengthy spell and against older horses.
Race 9   AUCKLAND CO-OP TAXIS 300-3000 NI WINTER REWARDS HCP TROT
