Race 1   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION. MOBILE PACE
TRIPLE ROCK - checked and broke near the 1600m when DON JUAN shifted inwards losing considerable ground.
LOGAN ROCK - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m. Held up early in the run home. Driver B Butt advised the removable deafeners were not activated in consequence.
DON JUAN - locked wheels with MIGHTYFLYIN SUPASTAR near the 1700m when attempting to shift inwards. Shifted inwards near the 1600m checking TRIPLE ROCK (S Thornley) which broke. Junior driver A Cameron (assisted by B Orange) was issued a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging she drove carelessly in both of these incidents. Miss Cameron advised she would be defending the charges and the hearing was adjourned to the NZ Metropolitan TC meeting on 30 July 2023.

MIGHTYFLYIN SUPASTAR - locked wheels with DON JUAN which attempted to shift inwards near the 1700m.

LOOKALIKE LOBELL - broke near the 900m losing all chance.
DIRTY HARRY - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
REWIRI HILL - held up in the middle stages of the run home.
LIVING THE MOMENT - broke near the 1050m losing all chance.
OPAWA PEAK - broke briefly at the start.
SIGNAL HILL - late scratching at 4.25pm on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming.

HILDA MAUD - lay outwards rounding the final bend.
OPAWA LOUIE - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
FULL OF DESIRE - hung inwards striking track markers rounding the final bend.
BARNSTORMER - held up throughout the run home.
TAKEMYBREATHAWAY - raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages.
APATCHOFGOLD - over-raced middle stages.
BIG MAMA MORRIS - over-raced middle stages.

TRES MAGNIFIQUE - hung inwards striking track markers near the 1500m. Weakened final bend.
RACHMANINOV - broke at the start losing ground hampering a trailing runner. Weakened final bend.
CURATOR - weakened final bend.
MM SUNSHINE - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Broke after 100m losing all chance.
QUIK BARBIE - held up final bend.
PAIGE - when questioned regarding the performance driver S Tomlinson advised the race had not been run to suit after the mare had got too far back in the running and had been unable to make up ground.
GALLEONS AMBASSADOR - raced wide early.
SALVO - trainer J Harrington was issued a warning for being late to notify the mare would be racing with fixed deafeners instead of the notified removeable deafeners.
WAIHEMO HANNAH - lay outwards over the concluding stages.
SEBASTIAN COE - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
Race 5   HYDROFLOW 2023 WINTER REWARDS MOBILE PACE
BOBBY WATERHOUSE - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ANN SOPHIE - struck a track marker rounding the final bend. Driver S Tomlinson was issued a warning.
BLACK MACH - raced wide early.
BEST TRIO - weakened final bend.
PRESS PLAY - late scratching on Veterinary advice after being found to be lame after arriving at the start area and was transported from the track in the Horse Ambulance to the Canterbury Equine Clinic for further assessment. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
AINT NO ANGEL - raced wide early.

CHANGEFORTHEBETA - paced roughly in the run home.

SOUTH SEAS ROCK - over-raced middle stages. Hung outwards throughout the run home.
MAREN FRANCO - paced roughly after a slight easing of the pace near the 1800m. When questioned regarding the performance driver L O'Reilly advised the race had not been run to suit after the mare had got too far back in the running and had been unable to make up ground.
TEDS LEGACY - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 8   AIRPARK CANTERBURY 2023 WINTER REWARDS HANDICAP TROT
TOP POCKET CHANCE - lay inwards striking track markers near the 900m. Trotted roughly when weakening rounding the final bend.
BRETT'S MATE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance and was retired from the race.
SUNNY LOUIS - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner and losing ground. Weakened from the 600m.
TEDESCO - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
T K MEGASTAR - hampered and broke shortly after the start losing all chance and was retired from the race.
LIGHT OF DA MOON - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance trainer R Holmes advised in his opinion the mare had not backed up from her previous start on 21 July 2023.
MASTER CLASS - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
THE FOX - broke after 100m losing ground. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend. Attended to by the on-course Veterinarian after being injured in the stable area following the race with the gelding being transported to the Canterbury Equine Clinic in the Horse Ambulance for further assessment. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
MIGHTY LOGAN - broke near the 2100m losing all chance and was retired from the race.
JIMMY CARTER - raced wide early.
Race 9   FIRST DIRECT TAXIS 2023 WINTER REWARDS MOBILE PACE
LIZZIE RICHTER - hampered by a weakening runner final bend. Held up throughout the run home.
BEAUDIENE QUICK STEP - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with connections in the coming days.
GLENTHORNE - lay inwards near the 1500m striking track markers.
JACCKA OPA - held up early in the run home.
WINEMEUP - raced wide early.
FINDERS KEEPERS - over-raced middle stages. The near side spreader broke over the concluding stages with the gelding breaking near the 100m. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
ABSOLUTE DYNAMITE - raced wide early. Again raced wide from the 1700m.
MOTOR MOUTH - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
RAGING ON - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
SOPHIA BROMAC - pre-race warmed.
