RUBY'S A DELIGHT - broke racing into the first bend checking and hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
FLO MOTION - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend and broke in consequence.
SHARDS FURY - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend and broke in consequence.
RAGING ON - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Shifted outwards near the 1100m forcing FRANCO HOFFMAN to race wider on the track. Driver K McClintock admitted a breach of the Push Out Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) and after viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
OLIVE COOK - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend and broke in consequence.
BOARDING CALL - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Shifted outwards near the 350m when the removable deafeners were activated. Lay outwards near the 150m. Driver B White was issued a warning to make a better effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
FRANCO HOFFMAN - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Forced to race wider on the track near the 1100m when RAGING ON shifted outwards. When questioned regarding the improved performance the connections advised the gelding has been freshened since last racing and appreciated a drop in grade of the race today.
MAXIMILIAN - checked by a breaking runner racing into the first bend and broke in consequence. Raced wide rounding the final bend.
MOTOR MOUTH - driver D Simpson admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip free of the rein and with more than a wrist flicking motion on one occasion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Simpson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 8 October 2023 (12 weeks). In determining this penalty the Adjudicative Committee took into account Mr Simpson's recent record in relation to this Rule.
Race 2   LOIS'S FAMILY SATURDAY SMOKO FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
THISTLE - attempted to get its head under the mobile arm just prior to dispatch having to be steadied and as a result was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
BALTIMORE JILL - late scratching at 11.00am on Veterinary advice.
AMORE INFIDA - lay outwards near the 350m despite the efforts of driver J Dunn. Mr Dunn advised the filly had raced greenly on several occasions.
Race 3   PHIL SHATFORD RIVERSIDE / NZ BOXING LEGEND TROT
MAINBOCHER - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Hampered near the 1100m.
QUEEN DOREEN - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2300m.
OPAWA PEAK - broke briefly at the start. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m.
PEAKS MOMENT - paced for a distance passing the 2400m and then broke hampering trailing runners. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m. Again hampered by a breaking runner near the 500m. Trotted roughly on a number of occasions and broke again near the 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
PETITE TRIXTON - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2300m. Hung inwards leaving the 1600m and then broke hampering trailing runners losing ground. Trotted roughly passing the 1100m losing contact with the field hampering a trailing runner.
MAVIS JONES - broke near the 500m hampering a trailing runner losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
MOONDANCE - slow over the early stages. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m.
AVENTINE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m.
WAIHEMO HANNAH - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m.
Race 4   MARK COMMENDS BRAXTON FARRIERS / PREBBLETON VETS MOBILE PACE
LOGAN ROCK - raced greenly on a number of occasions when leading .
ELEPHANTINTHEROOM - briefly paced roughly shortly after the start.
EL TERROR - raced wide from the 950m. Held up rounding the final bend.
CORFU BROMAC - held up final bend. Driver T Williams reported the gelding had been striking its sulky wheels on several occasions. Mr Williams added he would also be recommending gear changes prior to the gelding next racing.
CEEUBETTY - driver S Thornley reported the filly had been striking its sulky wheels on several occasions.
PAY ME MORTGAGE - held up rounding the final bend and early in the run home.
Race 5   LJ MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT
KOHLI TROUBLE - broke at the start losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 2100m.
GOTTA TICKET - broke racing into the first bend losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 2100m. Caretaker trainer M Purvis advised the gelding lost the near front shoe during the running.
TOM BRADY - broke passing the 2100m hampering trailing runners losing all chance. Trainer M Purvis advised the gelding lost the off front shoe during the running.
QUIK BARBIE - driver R Holmes advised the removable deafeners were not activated due to having the field covered.
Race 6   ARTATAC & SIOUX PRINCESS -IRON HORSES- 34 WINS MOBILE PACE
EBURY STREET - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners.
BOBBY WATERHOUSE - raced wide from the 800m.
NORTHVIEW PEG - held up final bend and early in the run home by a weakening runner. Driver R May advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
GRONKOWSKI - driver D O'Connell advised the removable deafeners were not activated due to the cord breaking. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
ELITE STYX - over-raced when being restrained in the early stages.
KENNEDY - held up final bend by a weakening runner.
Race 7   THANKS CROZIER/DEEGAN & K WILLIAMS GALLOP STABLES MOB PACE
FAST ACE - a false start was declared when FAST ACE broke in the score up checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver R Cameron elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart.
NOT OVER - over-raced middle stages.
TOWER OF LOVE - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer J Simpson advised the gelding had benefited from a change in training regime, being cleared from the unruly and had been unlucky at its previous start.
Race 8   HADFIELD FEEDS / FEEDBARN HANDICAP TROT
CALL THIS FUN - broke after 200m losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner on the final bend.
TEDESCO - broke rounding the final bend hampering trailing runners.
GREENBANK DON - over-raced early stages.
LOVE POTION - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner.
QUIK BARBIE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after starting in Race 5 and was cleared to start. Broke near the 150m when the removable deafeners were activated losing its chance.
CURATOR - broke briefly at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner on the final bend.
DD'S SUPER STUART - slow to begin.
MIGHTY LOGAN - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Driver R Close advised the removable deafeners were not activated due to having the field covered.
