A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer C McDowell advised the gelding will be freshened and return to the trials prior to resuming. | |

VALYRIAN STEEL - shied as the barrier was released and shifted inwards becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of BEAUDIENE QUICK STEP and broke as a result losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the request of the connections after it was found to be lame in the off hind leg after cooling down which revealed a suspected fractured pastern. Transported by the Horse Ambulance to a local veterinary clinic for further evaluation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming. | |
