Race 1   LONE STAR TROT
KAHNTDOITALONE - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Weakened final bend. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the trainer's request.
SUNNY SON - slow to begin.
DHONI TROUBLE - trotted roughly at various stages throughout.
A LATE LATE PRESSY - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
Race 2   SERVICE FOODS MOBILE PACE
REFORMED - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Curtin advised the mare had raced lethargically throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the off fore leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
HUTASA - lay inwards and struck track markers near the 900m. Again lay inwards and struck track markers when weakening on the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver R May advised the gelding had been hanging at various stages throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the off hind leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
VALYNDA - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
Race 3   OX MCEWAN AT RYAL BUSH TRANSPORT PACE
HE'S A BAY - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver L O'Reilly advised the gelding had raced lethargically throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer C McDowell advised the gelding will be freshened and return to the trials prior to resuming.
DON JUAN - hampered by an outside runner at the start.
ANN OFATHOUSAND BAYS - shifted inwards at the start hampering an inside runner.
VERY KIWI - paced roughly in the early stages.
VALYRIAN STEEL - shied as the barrier was released and shifted inwards becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of BEAUDIENE QUICK STEP and broke as a result losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the request of the connections after it was found to be lame in the off hind leg after cooling down which revealed a suspected fractured pastern. Transported by the Horse Ambulance to a local veterinary clinic for further evaluation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
BALTIMORE JILL - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange advised the mare had travelled well throughout however had failed to respond when placed under pressure leaving the final bend.
Race 4   KICKUP FOR RACING PACE
UPTOWN FUNK - broke briefly shortly after the start.
MILOU - slow to begin. When questioned regarding the performance driver K Cameron advised the filly had been under pressure from the 500m after improving to the parked position in the middle stages. Trainer N Le Lievre advised he was not disappointed with the effort given it was only the filly's second race day start.
PLAYING WITH STARS - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
AIRIES GOLD - held up middle stages of the run home.
IZACHEAPEE - raced roughly shortly after the start.
TAKEMYBREATHAWAY - broke briefly at the start.
Race 5   PAUL HOWLETT FARRIER - PAUL WITSEY FENCING HANDICAP PACE
IFYOUSAYSO - broke at the start losing ground.
TOM MARTIN - had to be steadied near the 2100m after a slight easing of the pace.
CHAMPAGNEANDWINE - driver T Chmiel was warned for using his whip with his foot removed from the sulky footrest in the early stages.
Race 6   PROGRESSIVE FIRST NATIONAL HANDICAP TROT
TOP POCKET CHANCE - crowded early in the run home by TAKE AFTER ME which lay outwards and then was held up for a distance.
AWAPUNI - broke at the start losing ground.
LUNAR ROSA - broke after 100m losing ground. Broke again near the 1300m and was retired from the race. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
QUIK BARBIE - lay outwards early in the run home.
TAKE AFTER ME - lay outwards in the early part of the run home crowding TOP POCKET CHANCE despite the efforts of driver J Morrison. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
TE RAPA - co-trainers G & N Hope were issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race without the notified anti choke device.
BENNIE AND THE JETS - lay inwards passing the 1000m having to be steadied by driver C DeFilippi.
FULL OF HOPE - late scratching at 11.50am on veterinary advice.
Race 7   STALLIONS SYNDICATE - HUNGRY HORSES GRAZING MOBILE PACE
AINT NO ANGEL - driver B Williamson was issued a warning for striking a track marker near the 1500m.
COURAGE REACTOR - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards leaving the final bend. Driver W House advised he was unable to activate the removeable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
EXECUTIVE BANNER - lay inwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Again lay inwards early in the run home.
FLO MOTION - raced wide early.
IT'S ME - when questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised the gelding had raced lethargically from the 1000m. Trainer R Thornley advised the gelding had not been suited by the tempo of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 8   FARMLANDS - BURRENBRAE FARMS MOBILE PACE
BOBBY WATERHOUSE - weakened leaving the final bend.
FINDERS KEEPERS - broke near the 150m.
GLENTHORNE - shifted up the track leaving the final bend. Driver C Dalgety was issued a warning to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course leaving the final bend and early in the run home.
VICTOR BRAVO - held up early in the run home.
