Race 9 - JOHN KEENAN MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
Driver K Green (SEABROOKE) defended a charge alleging she breached the Push Out Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) when MAGIC SIGN was forced wider on the track near the 1100m. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Ms Green the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge.

Race 1   SOUTHFISH MOBILE PACE
ASK ME LOU - placed in restricted room and contacted several track markers near the 800m when CHEMMY lay inwards. Driver A Kyle admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion leaving the final bend and early in the run home. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
BLACKJACK ROAD - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
DELIGHTFUL CHEVRON - held up rounding the final bend.
BETTER BE WATCHING - over-raced in the score up.
REBECCA DALE - paced roughly through the middle stages.
SLY TRICKS - lay in rounding the first bend striking track markers.
CHEMMY - lay in at various stages throughout. Cleared from the Unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 2   HYDE LANDSCAPING MOBILE PACE
LA BAMBA - weakened over the concluding stages.
LORTON VALE - when asked to comment on the improved performance trainer E Swain advised the gelding had benefitted from a change of training regime including an increased workload, had received an economical run today and given these factors he was not surprised by the better effort.
ROBYNS ART - over-raced near the 1400m when there was a slight easing of the pace.
CARBON COPY - paced roughly at various stages throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 3   GRINALDI LODGE/NORTHERN SOUTHLAND TC TROT
HAIL STONE - broke after 100m losing all chance.
TERROR COVE - lay inwards on the bends.
TEASE MY TARTAN - over-raced when being restrained to take cover near the 1400m.
CLOVER JEWEL - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner and losing all chance.
ACTION PACKED - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start and broke in consequence losing all chance.
THE BRONX BOMBER - tangled away.
Race 4   UNITED FISHERIES MOBILE PACE
DALNESS ARIZONA - when asked to comment on the improved performance trainer N Chalmers advised the gelding had drawn benefit from a change of training regime, more tractable racing manners and receiving an economical run today.
TAD LINCOLN - weakened final bend.
JABALI - raced wide early.
WONTHAVTIME - hampered by a weakening runner near the 400m. Stewards spoke with driver K Green regarding the tactics she adopted near the 800m when electing to shift back down to the one out line after briefly shifting out to run in the three wide out line to pass the tiring MATAI CHARLOTTE. Ms Green explained that it had been her intention to race in the three wide line however MATAI CHARLOTTE kicked up on her inside, so she elected to shift back down to save ground. Stewards noted Ms Green's comments.
ONELOVEONELIFE - raced wide early.
HALEY ROBYN - weakened final bend.
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to take cover.
MATAI CHARLOTTE - raced three wide without cover in the early stages until reaching the parked position near the 1500m. Weakened from the 400m hampering a trailing runner.
Race 5   BARNES WILD BLUFF OYSTERS TROT
SUPERFASTSUPERSTAR - lay inwards under pressure over the concluding stages.
VELOCITY JET - fractious and reared prior to the tapes being released with the gelding getting the sulky shaft over its rump. Declared a non-runner under the provisions of Rule 213(1)(e) due to unsatisfactory barrier manners prior to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
THE POWER BROKER - broke rounding the final bend.
TWO MENNY MUSCLES - fractious prior to the start and refused to move forward, despite the efforts of the Starter Assistants. Declared a non-runner under the provisions of Rule 213(1)(e) due to unsatisfactory barrier manners prior to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
AH DINNAE KEN - trotted roughly and broke shortly after the start.
T BONE RAWHIDE - broke briefly rounding the final bend. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
Race 6   SOUTHLAND FARM SERVICES FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
MOP - driver A Armour reported he was unable to activate the sliding blinds due to the cord becoming entangled.
MUCHO FUERTE - raced three wide without cover until reaching the parked position near the 1200m. Weakened from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MILLWOOD INDIE - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to take cover from a wide draw.
CONQUER CLARE - connections reported the mare has had its hocks treated since last racing.
PRECIOUS BELLE - raced three wide from the 1000m. Weakened final bend.
Race 7   AWARUA SYNERGY HANDICAP TROT
STEVE - tangled away. Trotted roughly final bend.
GALLEONS FUTURE - tangled away.
AVEROSS MAJESTY - over-raced through the middle stages. Held up leaving the final bend until the middle stages of the run home. Driver D O'Connell reported he did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
MADRIK - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Broke again racing into the first bend and was retired from the race by driver K Green who reported she felt something was amiss with the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with trainer K Green in the coming days.
Race 8   SOUTH PORT NZ LTD BLUFF CUP (MOBILE PACE)
BROOKIES PLAYER - raced wide early.
HEEZ GOOD - raced three wide without cover from the 1300m.
WITH A BANG - held up for clear racing room throughout the run home and passing the 150m shifted ground outwards abruptly making contact with the sulky wheel of JORDY. Again, shifted outwards abruptly passing the 100m contacting the hind legs of JORDY. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver B Barclay reported he did not release the removable deafeners as a consequence of being held up.
MIGHTY REACTOR - over-raced middle stages. Held up throughout the run home. Driver K Tomlinson reported she did not release the removable deafeners as a consequence.
Race 9   K B & ASSOCIATES ACCOUNTANTS MOBILE PACE
EL SIRRAR - over-raced middle stages.
MCLEAN - raced wide early. Junior driver D Anderson, assisted by N Williamson, was issued a charge that he drove carelessly near the 600m when allowing his runner to strike the sulky wheel of DURRANT resulting in the tyre puncturing. The matter was adjourned by the Adjudicative Committee to be heard at the Invercargill meeting on Friday 9th June.
DURRANT - held up rounding the final bend. Broke passing the 220m losing its chance. Driver O Kite reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 600m.
Junior driver D Anderson (MCLEAN), assisted by N Williamson, admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) that he drove carelessly near the 600m when allowing his runner to strike the sulky wheel of DURRANT resulting in the tyre puncturing. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicator suspended Mr Anderson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including Saturday 17 June (1 day) and imposed a fine of $100.
