Race 1   FIND YOUR OWN "COPY THAT" FROM WOODLANDS STUD MOBILE PACE
HEZA PLAYER - held up by a weakening runner final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Wigg advised that despite being held up on the final bend she was disappointed with the gelding's effort.
TUGAWAR - fractious leaving the pre-race formation causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened final bend.
I'LLAVABUBBLES - driver M Northcott was warned for using her whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
MR WONDERFUL - raced wide early. Shifted outwards in the run home when being driven out. Driver F Phelan was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
LILLIBURLERO - driver W Rich reported that he sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 1200m. Paced roughly leaving the final bend and had to be steadied. Mr Rich was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
MAJOR BOND - over-raced middle stages. Held up leaving the final bend.
ALLY MAE - held up final bend and paced roughly.
PLAY BALL - hung outwards rounding the first bend causing driver M Salaivao some difficulty. Continued to hang outwards through the middle stages and struck the sulky wheel of LILLIBURLERO near the 1200m despite the efforts of the driver. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
MR INCREDIBLE - raced keenly through the middle stages.
Race 2   TAYLOR ST COFFEE HANDICAP TROT
ULTIMATE MOMENT - broke at the start losing ground. Hung inwards final bend and throughout the run home causing driver D Butcher some difficulty.
DEBBIE LEE GALLEON - shifted ground simultaneously to CYCLONE KADABRAMELIA at the start making contact with that runner then broke losing all chance.
CYCLONE KADABRAMELIA - shifted ground simultaneously to DEBBIE LEE GALLEON at the start making contact with that runner. Hung inwards rounding the final bend striking a track marker which was dislodged. Hung outwards throughout the run home.
LIGHTNING MCQUEEN - broke near the 400m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
WISH FOR FISH - trotted roughly passing the 950m then broke shortly after losing ground. Broke again near the 350m losing further ground.
BARSUKOV - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
KUMANOVO - hampered by a breaking runner after 100m and broke losing all chance. Driver D Balle was warned to ensure that he starts wider on the track when drawn Unruly.
SEBASTIAN MONTOYA - broke shortly after the start hampering an outside runner.
PRESIDENT FLYNNTIN - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Briefly raced wide on the track near the 1450m when WISH FOR FISH shifted ground outwards. After viewing the replays, it was established that T Macfarlane (WISH FOR FISH) had commenced his outward movement prior to PRESIDENT FLYNNTIN reaching its sulky wheel. Accordingly, no further action was deemed necessary. Trotted roughly in the run home.
PLAY FOOTSIE - hampered by a breaking runner after 100m.
THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT - shifted ground inwards shortly after the start to avoid a breaking runner. Broke after 100m hampering a trailing runner. Over-raced through the middle stages.
Co-Trainer J Teaz advised Stewards on 19 May that ULTIMATE MOMENT has had its fetlocks treated since last racing.
Race 3   FRIDAY NIGHT RACEWAY PARTY TICKETS ON SALE NOW MOBILE PACE
HAMPTON - briefly paced roughly leaving the final bend when shifting inwards to utilise the passing lane after striking the wheel of PIXIE. Driver A Poutama was issued with a warning for the manner in which he drove. In taking this course of action Stewards were satisfied there had been no consequential effects as a result.
LADY LA SALLE - raced four wide from the 700m. Hung inwards and paced roughly rounding the final bend when wide on the track.
LETSGODANCING - over-raced through the middle stages when being restrained to obtain cover. Paced roughly rounding the final bend. Driver A Harrison was issued with a warning for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home.
BUGALUGS - held up rounding the final bend.
HEY MIKI DENARIO - held up early in the run home.
MANHATTAN SUNSHINE - over-raced through the middle stages. Hung outwards rounding the final bend when held up.
COTTON SOCKS - hung inwards near the 900m when being shifted wider on the track by an inside runner and paced roughly.
DENNY - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1400m. Lay outwards in the run home.
BET ON STEPH - raced four wide from the 700m. Weakened final bend.
Race 4   MID-WINTER XMAS TICKETS ON SALE NOW MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed due to SPIRITED LOU requiring farrier attention.
NORMIE STEAD - broke near the 1300m losing ground. Paced roughly passing the 900m. Weakened final bend.
RED RACKHAM - broke in the score up losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Stewards questioned drivers T Mitchell (RED RACKHAM), Z Butcher (BELL FIRE) and D Balle (SPIRITED LOU) regarding an incident early in the run home where SPIRITED LOU was checked when racing to the outside of BELL FIRE after being shifted wider on the track by RED RACKHAM. After hearing from all drivers and viewing the replays, it was established that Mr Mitchell had shifted ground outwards in an acceptable manner when having a clear advantage over both runners, however BELL FIRE and SPIRITED LOU had contributed to the incident by hanging inwards when being shifted wider on the track. After considering the matter, no further action was deemed necessary.
SPIRITED LOU - hung inwards when checked and broke early in the run home. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse had a laceration to the right fore outside heel.
BELL FIRE - broke late in the score up losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hung inwards early in the run home.
Race 5   GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND MOBILE PACE
SPIRITED PEGGY - weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Abernethy reported that the mare hung rounding the final bend when weakening. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
SUNSHINE MOMENT - held up early in the run home. Driver M White defended a charge of 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly approaching the 100m when shifting ground outwards checking FONTEYN (S McCaffrey). After viewing the replays and hearing from all parties the Adjudicative Committee upheld the charge and suspended Mr White's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 19 May up to and including 2 June 2023 (2 days).
AMERICAN ROCKER - when questioned regarding the performance driver A Poutama reported that the filly raced greenly throughout.
MISS YOU BROMAC - raced wide early. Over-raced middle stages.
VINCENTS GIRL - broke briefly passing the 1300m. Paced roughly final bend and in the run home. Held up over the concluding stages. Trainer N Chilcott was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after a side carrier broke during the running.
FONTEYN - checked approaching the 100m when an inside runner shifted ground outwards. Stewards questioned driver S McCaffrey in relation to him driving with his foot out of the foot rest leaving the final bend. Mr McCaffrey advised that the sulky seat shifted shortly after the start and again rounding the final bend which resulted in him dropping his foot from the rest for a short distance. After considering the matter Mr McCaffrey was warned to make a greater effort to return his foot to the sulky foot rest at the earliest opportunity.
AMERICAN ROCKER - trainer R Green advised the filly has had its joints treated since last racing.
Following an Appeal hearing today in relation to a charge alleging driver M White (SUNSHINE MOMENT) drove carelessly approaching the 100m when shifting ground outwards checking FONTEYN, the Appeals Tribunal dismissed the Appeal and suspended Mr White's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 15 June up to and including 29 June 2023 (2 days) and imposed costs against Mr White of $750.

MY ROYAL ROXY - weakened final bend.
THANK YOU - broke near the 1500m losing ground.
DEL SHANNON - pre-raced warmed. Broke briefly at the start.
PRINCE ENVY - broke at the start losing all chance.

SONSOFTHEMERCH - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke near the 300m losing all chance.
JASINOVA - held up by a weakening runner final bend. Held up for clear racing room for the majority of the run home.
Race 7   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS MOBILE PACE
SPARKIE - held up early in the run home.
WHOOSHKA - weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance trainer D Marshall reported that the mare after racing parked in the early stages had worked hard for a distance passing the 1600m to obtain the lead with the effort taking its toll. Driver A Drake reported that the mare had made abnormal breathing noises during the running. A post-race veterinary and endoscopic examination revealed no abnormalities.
OHOKA ACHILLES - driver O Gillies was issued with a warning for loose reining in the run home.
LOUTENANT - weakened from the 500m and was retired from the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MAHIA DREAMIN - raced keenly through the middle stages.
PROVISEUR - held up early in the run home.
Race 8   NEW AUCTION LIVE ON GAVELHOUSE.COM MOBILE PACE
BARBAROSSA - held up for clear racing room in the run home.
JOHN WAYNE - raced wide early stages.
TREACHEROUS REIGN - held up for clear racing room in the run home with driver B Mangos not activating the removable gear in consequence.
MR PRESIDENT - lay inwards dislodging a track marker near the 850m.
NORVIC CHARLIE - weakened final bend. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1600m after NORVIC CHARLIE briefly raced wider on the track when CLAUDE shifted ground outwards. After viewing the replays, it was established that driver M White (CLAUDE) had commenced his outward movement prior to NORVIC CHARLIE reaching his sulky wheel. Accordingly no further action was deemed necessary.
SHARKIES GIRL - held up leaving the final bend and early in the run home.
CLAUDE - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver M White reported that the gelding races well when able to lead. Co-trainer L Neal advised that the gelding had been unsuited when racing wide in recent starts after beginning from outside barrier draws.
BETTOR CHEER - late scratching at 8.07am on Veterinary advice.
PRIVATE EYE - over-raced middle stages.
Race 9   OFFTHETRACK.NZ TROT
SLAINTE - tangled away then broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
TRIFOLIUM - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
LITTLEBITOFLOVE - broke rounding the final bend losing all chance.
GROOVY L'AMOUR - held up for clear racing room throughout the run home.
NGAURUHOE - driver R Paynter admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip free of the rein on several occasions in the run home. After hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
