Race 1   WELCOME GARY WILLIAMS NEW ATC STEWARD MOBILE PACE
MR PRESIDENT - sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 100m when contacted by SHARKIES GIRL which was disappointed for a run when MR PRESIDENT shifted outwards marginally. Given the circumstances Stewards took the matter no further.
NELSON'S BOY - weakened in the run home.
COLONEL LINCOLN - raced keenly near the 1400m having to be steadied. Lay in rounding the final turn and early stages of the run home. When questioned Driver M McKendry stated that he was satisfied with the colt's performance as it was his first run back from a spell and given the fast final 400m.
MITCH - lay in rounding the home turn. Driver A Harrison reported that the removable deafeners had failed to activate despite her efforts.
IDEAL KINGDOM - raced wide early.
SCOUT'S HONOUR - raced wide early and middle stages before crossing to the parked position near the 1200m.
SHARKIES GIRL - held up final turn and throughout the run home.
MIDFREW LUCRE - held up final turn and early stages of the run home.
Race 2   DUNSTAN SPEEDFEED SUMMER SERIES TROT
The start was delayed for approximately 3 minutes due to the sulky on TAYLAD TO USE having to be replaced after a tyre deflated.
ITAINTNECESSARILYSO - broke at the start losing ground before settling.
SANINARMBRO - late scratching at 10am on veterinary advice.
TAYLAD TO USE - Co-trainers D & C McGowan were warned for presenting the gelding with removable deafeners that were not notified. Lay in and contacted several track markers final turn. Broke passing the 100m losing its chance. A final warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
RUN FOREST RUN - slow early. Over-raced through the middle stages. Shifted wide rounding the home turn when at the rear.
CRUISE CONTROL - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
Race 3   DUNSTAN SPEEDFEED SUMMER SERIES MOBILE PACE
BEV THE GOAT - lay in late in the score up.
VINNIE TURBO - weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Trainer/driver B Mangos advised that the gelding had made abnormal respiratory noise during the running and that further veterinary investigation would be carried out subsequent to the meeting. Stewards will follow up with Mr Mangos in the coming days.
FIFTH AND FINAL - broke shortly after the start losing ground before settling at the rear. Broke near the 1600m when trailing the field losing further ground. Broke again near 300m losing all chance. The gelding was stood down until such time it trials to the satisfaction of Stewards.
SMART AND MIGHTY - raced greenly at various stages and became awkwardly placed to the sulky of THROWYAARMSAROUNDME near the 850m.
Race 4   HAPPY 91ST BIRTHDAY COLLEEN EDMONDS HANDICAP TROT
FAITH IN MANCHESTER - hampered by a breaking runner and then broke passing the 400m. Shifted out while in the break locking wheels with CRUISE LINER and lost all chance.
CRUISE LINER - lay in and contacted a track marker near the 1300m. Sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 1000m with the tyre and tube coming away from the rim shortly after. Locked wheels with the breaking FAITH IN MANCHESTER near the 400m resulting in Driver B Edwards being tipped from the sulky. CRUISE LINER continued on driverless for some distance before being caught. The gelding underwent a veterinary examination which revealed minor abrasions to both hind. Mr Edwards was examined by St John Paramedics and cleared of any injury.
AMERICAN MUSCLE - Driver T Cameron admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly by allowing his gelding to contact the sulky wheel of CRUISE LINER near the 1000m which resulted in the tyre puncturing. After viewing replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
DREAM OF YOU - slow early.
PRINCE ENVY - lay in rounding the bend approaching the 800m contacting a track marker and lost ground. Lay in and broke passing the 500m hampering a trailing runner and lost its chance.
Clerk Of The Course Ron Weller became unseated from his horse after having caught the driverless CRUISE LINER when his saddle slipped. Mr Weller was examined by St John Paramedics and found to have sustained minor abrasions to his leg. Mr Weller's horse underwent a veterinary examination after it continued around the track for some distance before being caught and was found not to have sustained any injury.
Race 5   IRT - YOUR HORSE - OUR PASSION MOBILE PACE
WHO'S DELIGHT - lay in late in the score up and shortly after the start. Lay in when straightening for the run home when being shifted wider on the track.
SUPA DUPA LUCA - over-raced near the 1600m when being restrained to attempt to take a trail. Continued to over-race during the middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early and middle stages of the run home.
BACH - raced wide early before being restrained to the rear. Worked forward to lead near the 1000m. Shifted out on rounding the final turn and then weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance Driver J Dunn stated that the gelding had raced lethargically throughout and was disappointed with the effort. Mr Dunn was issued a warning in relation to allowing this runner to shift ground outwards rounding the final turn when leading. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a low grade respiratory infection. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with connections in the coming days.
Race 6   TEMPORALE - ENJOY RETIREMENT AFTER 27 WINS HANDICAP TROT
SPRINGBANK MASON - broke near the 200m. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
Race 7   LINCOLN FARMS THE FOUNDERS CUP (1700) MOBILE PACE
SMIFFY'S TERROR - held up over the final 50m.
AKUTA - Co-trainers M & N Purdon were issued with a warning for presenting the gelding without the notified sliding blinds. Lay in near the 900m when improving three wide before crossing to the parked position near the 700m. When questioned Driver B Mangos stated that he was pleased with the performance given that the gelding had been required to work mid-race to reach the parked position along with the fast closing sectionals recorded.
COPY THAT - Driver M McKendry was questioned regarding his driving tactics. Mr McKendry stated it was the entire's first run back from an enforced spell and it had been decided to go back from the outside barrier at the start given that NICHOLAS CAGE was drawn to lead. Mr McKendry further stated that he had been able to flush AKUTA out from the marker line near the 1100m however several other runners also moved out into the running line so he had not received a trail forward on the back of AKUTA as he had hoped. He then explained that he had elected not to follow AKUTA forward approaching the 900m as he felt that the position outside the leader would not have been available and he would have been left three wide without cover for the remainder. Mr McKendry also added that COPY THAT had performed exceptionally when saved up for one final run on previous occasions and was more than satisfied with the performance given the fast closing sectionals recorded.
Race 8   ATC SUPPORTS TEAM TEAL MOBILE PACE
FERGALICIOUS - hampered when having to take evasive action to avoid a breaking runner near the 1400m.
STACEY MARIE - broke approaching the 1400m hampering trailing runners and lost ground before settling at the rear. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners. Had to be steadied near the 1050m when FOREVER ME, which had commenced to improve out to the running line, shifted back down to the markers.
TWIST LITTLE GIRL - lay out throughout the run home.
DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER - paced roughly passing the 150m.
WICKED WANDA - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier manners. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until it was confirmed that the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
THE NOTORIOUS R B G - briefly hampered by a breaking runner near the 1400m.
FOREVER ME - briefly hampered by a breaking runner near the 1400m. When questioned regarding the performance Driver J Stormont stated after electing to go back from the outside draw at the start that the filly had been unable to make up much ground given the fast final 400m.
Race 9   'NATIONAL STYLE STAKES' FASHION EVENT 24 MARCH TROT
MONARCH HILL - swung out at the start.
MARIA THERESA - Driver S Argue was warned for using his whip free of the rein over the latter stages of the run home.
SPECIAL EFFECTS - crowded and broke shortly after the start losing ground before settling. Broke near the 900m checked a trailing runner and lost all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
SHESGOLD - broke shortly after the start checking a trailing runner and lost considerable ground. Checked by a breaking runner and broke near the 900m losing all chance.
OWN THE MOMENT - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start then broke soon after losing considerable ground.
DOLLY P - checked and broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
