ALI'S WISHES - trotted roughly through the middle stages and in the run home.
LINE A LOVE - broke briefly after 100m. Trotted roughly passing the 150m.
RUSH - driver G Smith reported the mare had been difficult to steer during the running.
EMMA LOUISE - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend. Driver R May advised the mare had been striking the sulky wheel discs during the running.
KAHNTDOITALONE - trotted roughly and broke briefly after 50m.
Race 3   PLACEMAKERS MOBILE PACE
LUSTRE AMOUR - crowded passing the 1400m. Weakened from the 600m. When spoken to regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised he was very disappointed with the effort and could provide no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
KID GLOVES - driver J Patterson was warned for the manner he drove passing the 1400m when crowding an inside runner.
AMBLESIDE DRIVE - over-raced middle stages.
ROSE NOIRE - late scratching at 9.05am on Veterinary advice.
JAMES CAGNEY - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after briefly falling in the stabling area and was cleared to start.
KNOCKSHANBALLY - cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 4   STEPHEN HEFFERNAN AT PROPERTY BROKERS OAMARU MOB PACE
HES SANTAS EXCUSE - held up final bend. Shifted in passing the 300m striking the sulky wheel of REFORMED. Contacted the final track marker leaving the final bend. Driver K Butt defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging she drove carelessly when allowing her runner to contact the sulky wheel of REFORMED (S Ottley) near the 300m with the tyre puncturing and coming off the rim. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and both drivers the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and after submissions on penalty imposed a fine of $250. Miss Butt admitted a breach of Rule 869(7A)(a) in that she contacted the final track marker prior to the passing lane and after hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $100.
REFORMED - held up final bend and throughout the run home. Driver S Ottley reported she sustained a punctured left sulky tyre passing the 300m and did not activate the sliding blinds or removable deafeners.
SOUTHERN STARR - over-raced middle stages.
REFINE - paced roughly rounding the first bend having to be restrained. Again paced roughly in the run home. Trainer J McDermott reported the mare lost the off hind shoe during the running.
JAVASA - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
TAXMAN - weakened leaving the final bend hampering trailing runners.
AIRIES GOLD - raced wide early.
JUSTIN FUN - over-raced middle stages. Held up throughout the run home.
Race 5   MATTHEW WILLIAMSON RACING STABLES MOBILE PACE
FORTY WIVES - weakened final bend hampering trailing runners.
MICHAEL CAINE - held up final bend and until late in the run home.
ART LINCOLN - held up final bend.
PERAKI REACTOR - trainer R Hayter advised that the gelding has been treated for a respiratory infection since last racing. Held up final bend.
AIMING FOR GLORY - when spoken to regarding the performance driver J Cox advised the mare had paced roughly on the final bend and in his opinion may not have handled the track.
U R THE ONE - late scratching at 9am on 7 March on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
OLIVER NORTH - held up final bend.
KALASA - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver R May. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 6   DAVID OVENS BUILDING HANDICAP TROT
ROYAL DIEDRE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 900m. Held up early in the run home.
PRINCE RANIER - crowded on the first bend contacting track markers.
MM SUNSHINE - broke passing the 900m hampering trailing runners and losing all chance.
SODS LAW - raced wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field. When questioned regarding the improved performance co-trainer/driver J Geddes advised that the gelding had received a good run and had been racing well without luck in previous starts and he was not surprised by the performance.
KOWHAI SUNDOWN - over-raced middle stages. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 900m. Driver S Ottley was warned for the manner she drove rounding the first bend when crowding an inside runner which struck track markers.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - paced at the start having to be broken up to be returned to its correct gait losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
MAJESTICMITE - broke near the 1500m losing all chance.
CODY BANNER - trotted roughly at various stages throughout. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 900m. Hampered again in the run home.
T K MEGASTAR - over-raced through the middle stages when leading. Lay out rounding the final bend and hung outwards throughout the run home causing driver G Thornley considerable difficulty. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Miss Thornley was spoken to advisedly for the manner in which she drove, when activating gear in the run home.
Race 7   NEVELE R STUD/MACCA LODGE SOUTHERN OAKS (HEAT) MOBILE PACE
MARIA ALLEGONDA - over-raced middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend.
ZARA TINDALL - late scratching at 7.45am on Veterinary advice.
MYSTIFY ME - weakened leaving the final bend.
BETTA WATCH OUT - held up by a weakening runner leaving the final bend.
Race 8   ALABAR SOUTHERN SUPREMACY (HEAT) MOBILE PACE
BORRISOKANE - over-raced middle stages.
SHARP AS A TAC - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room early in the run home.
DARBY O'GILL - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange could offer no explanation and was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 9   WAIMATE TC RACING HERE SUNDAY 26TH MARCH MOBILE PACE
WOODBINE ROCKS - the required veterinary clearance was received. Paced roughly and hung out in the early stages making contact with the sulky wheel of FIRST CLASS. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver G O'Reilly reported the gelding had hung out throughout causing him difficulty.
FIRST CLASS - driver R Close reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre in the early stages.
AJIRA - when spoken to regarding the performance driver C Dalgety advised he was disappointed with the gelding's effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MAREN FRANCO - when spoken to regarding the improved performance trainer/driver L O'Reilly advised that the mare had received no luck in recent starts and was able to be driven positively today and he was not surprised by the effort.
THE CONQUEROR - late scratching at 10.47am on Veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
HURRICANE HENDRIX - held up final bend and until late in the run home.
GET BACK - crowded in the early stages having to be steadied.
