HES SANTAS EXCUSE - held up final bend. Shifted in passing the 300m striking the sulky wheel of REFORMED. Contacted the final track marker leaving the final bend. Driver K Butt defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging she drove carelessly when allowing her runner to contact the sulky wheel of REFORMED (S Ottley) near the 300m with the tyre puncturing and coming off the rim. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and both drivers the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and after submissions on penalty imposed a fine of $250. Miss Butt admitted a breach of Rule 869(7A)(a) in that she contacted the final track marker prior to the passing lane and after hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $100. | |
REFORMED - held up final bend and throughout the run home. Driver S Ottley reported she sustained a punctured left sulky tyre passing the 300m and did not activate the sliding blinds or removable deafeners. | |

KOWHAI SUNDOWN - over-raced middle stages. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 900m. Driver S Ottley was warned for the manner she drove rounding the first bend when crowding an inside runner which struck track markers. | |
