HAPPY PLACE - trainer B Butt admitted a breach of Rule 865(2) in that he presented the gelding to race with sliding blinds which had not been notified. After considering penalty submissions and Mr Butt's record under this Rule, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
GLORYS DELIGHT - over-raced middle stages. Checked by a breaking runner near the 500m.
ANYTHING GOES - checked and broke near the 500m checking trailing runners and losing ground.
SOUTH SEAS ROCK - checked by a breaking runner near the 500m. Paced roughly near the 250m losing ground.
JIMMY JAMES MAGUIRE - checked by a breaking runner near the 500m.
RAKANOTTA - paced roughly and was out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S Tomlinson. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver S Tomlinson admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly near the 500m after shifting ground when insufficiently clear of ANYTHING GOES which was checked and broke with trailing runners also being checked. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Tomlinson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 5 March up to and including 11 March 2023 (3 days).
OFF THE EDGE - broke after 100m losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.

KINK - over-raced middle stages. Lay inwards throughout the run home.
ELLAMON - trotted roughly near the 900m. Held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
BEVRON - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
BRIANNA - fractious prior to the start. Shifted ground outwards near the 200m. Driver D McCormick was warned to maintain a straight course in the run home.
MAGNITUDE - checked by a breaking runner near the 1300m. Switched to a pace near the 100m before breaking late in the run home.
VINCENZO - fractious prior to the start. Checked by a breaking runner near the 1300m.
COURTNEY MAY - slow to begin and broke shortly after the start losing all chance and was retired from the race.
DOWNTOWN ORLANDO - broke near the 1300m checking trailing runners and losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
QUEEN DOREEN - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.

RUBY'S A DELIGHT - retired from the race near the 1000m after sustaining a punctured sulky tyre.
REFINE - over-raced middle stages. Weakened final bend.
ANN SOPHIE - checked and broke near the 1100m losing all chance and was retired from the race.
NED KELLY - over-raced middle stages and contacted the sulky wheel of RUBY'S A DELIGHT near the 1300m. Broke near the 1100m checking a trailing runner losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the left front pastern which was treated. Trainer J Gray advised he would be returning the horse to the Workouts prior to resuming.
BOARDING CALL - cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
Race 4   HYDROFLOW PLUMBING SOLUTIONS MOBILE PACE
EASTWOOD DREAM - lay inwards and struck a track marker rounding the final bend.
MIKI BENNETT - driver T Williams reported the removable deafeners were not activated due to having the field covered.
JAMES CAGNEY - held up leaving the final bend.
SOCIAL DISTANCING - over-raced middle stages. Paced roughly final bend when weakening. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
HIT THE BEACH - over-raced middle stages.
ADESANYA - hung inwards throughout the run home causing driver J Dunn some difficulty.
IDEAL CHEVRON - slow to leave the pre-race circle and was out of position at the start. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Broke near the 550m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ALL TOO WELL - connections advised Stewards the mare would be racing in foal.
Trainer A Stuart advised Stewards on 9 March that blood tests taken from SOCIAL DISTANCING had failed to reveal any abnormalities and that the gelding has continued with its current preparation for racing at Westport. Mr Stuart added that he has made a bit change since its last start.
Race 5   AIRPARK CANTERBURY HANDICAP TROT
MM SUNSHINE - began awkwardly.
TAKE AFTER ME - broke rounding the final bend hampering trailing runners.
ROYAL DIEDRE - lay inwards and struck track markers rounding the final bend.
JORDAN ANNE - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
MADELEINE STOWE - hampered by a breaking runner on the final bend.
SODS LAW - broke shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner and losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
IT'S SO EASY - broke racing into the first bend losing ground.
LIGHT OF DA MOON - hampered and broke after 100m losing ground. Over-raced middle stages. Hampered by a breaking runner on the final bend. Held up middle stages of the run home. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
CORMORAN STRIKE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
Race 6   ALABAR FREE-FOR-ALL MOBILE PACE
LAVER - a post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards questioned driver G O'Reilly regarding his tactics during the running and in particular the manner he drove from the 1500m. After hearing from Mr O'Reilly and viewing the replays, Stewards adjourned the matter for further consideration.
HOMEBUSH LAD - held up final bend and early in the run home. Hampered near the 200m and shifted inside track markers when racing to the inside of HENRY HUBERT. A protest was lodged against 4th placing being awarded to HOMEBUSH LAD (B Hope) under Rule 869(7B) alleging the gelding had gained an advantage when shifting inside the marker line in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Hope the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the protest.
MIGHTY LOOEE - over-raced middle stages. Held up early in the run home. Shifted inwards near the 150m placing inside runner in restricted room. Driver J Dunn was warned for the manner in which he shifted ground.
HENRY HUBERT - over-raced middle stages. Shifted into the passing lane near the 200m hampering a trailing runner. Placed in restricted room near the 150m. Driver T Williams admitted a breach of Rule 869(4) and the Passing Lane Regulations in that he failed to maintain a straight course in the run home and allow full access to the passing lane for trailing runners. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Williams' driver's licence from 19 March up to and including 22 March 2023 (2 days). A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards questioned driver T Williams regarding his tactics during the running and in particular from the 1500m. After hearing from Mr Williams and viewing the replays, Stewards adjourned the matter for further consideration.
Race 7   NZB AIRFREIGHT MOBILE PACE
ARTATAC - hung outwards throughout the run home.
LUMEN CAELI - held up throughout the run home. Driver B Orange advised the removable deafeners were not activated in consequence.
CHAL PATCH - held up early in the run home.
TERRY - held up early in the run home.
HEISENBERG - driver J Dunn admitted a breach of Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) in that he shifted outwards near the 1700m forcing WARLOCH to race wider on the track. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
WARLOCH - forced to raced wider on the track near the 1700m when HEISENBERG shifted outwards.
Race 8   PAUL RENWICK JOINERY HANDICAP TROT
TEDESCO - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
IDLE STUARTIA - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
MAUI - hung inwards rounding the final bend contacting track markers when weakening hampering a trailing runner.
SON OF PATRICK - broke shortly after the start hampering trailing runners and losing all chance.

HESTON HALL - over-raced middle stages.
TIME UP THE HILL - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
EUROKASH - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Held up near the 70m.
Race 9   FAHEY FENCE HIRE MOBILE PACE
FAST ACE - shifted outwards in the run home. Driver R Cameron was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in future. Mr Cameron was also warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
GOSAKHI - weakened final bend hampering a trailing runner.
KING ARTHUR - broke in the score up losing all chance and was retired from the race. The connections requested a Ruling as to whether the gelding had been denied a fair start. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards, Starter R Donnelly, driver M Williamson and trainer J Gray, the Adjudicative Committee declared KING ARTHUR to be a runner. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BETTER FLY - over-raced middle stages.
FLO MOTION - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver L O'Reilly. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Held up late in the run home. Driver L O'Reilly was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home.
BEYOND A SHADOW - hampered final bend by a weakening runner. Jostled for a position with FERNZ GOLDY near the 300m. Had difficulty obtaining a clear run over the concluding stages. Driver R Close gave initial evidence in relation to the jostling and due to driver J Morrison (FERNZ GOLDY) leaving the track Stewards adjourned the matter.
