T K NIHILATOR - trotted roughly at various stages throughout. Broke passing the 1600m losing ground. Broke again near the 400m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance.
VINCENZO - broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Broke again near the 1700m losing further ground.
BEVRON - began awkwardly. Hampered by a breaking runner passing the 1600m.
QUEEN DOREEN - broke after 100m losing considerable ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 400m. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the trainer's request.
THE FIERY COUNTESS - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
VIRGINIA CLOWERS - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again racing into the first bend losing further ground. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.

ANN SOPHIE - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer/driver A Lethaby advised the mare had been treated for a virus since last racing and had trialed well in preparation for today's race. Stewards opened an investigation into Mrs Lethaby failing to advise the mare had been treated for a virus.
LAWYER GIRL - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
WOODLEA JEWEL - driver K Cox was warned for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and in a continuous manner in the run home.
MILEY ACE - paced roughly shortly after the start.
LADY VINCENT - driver C DeFilippi defended a breach of Rule 303(2) alleging that he misconducted himself when kicking the mare on one occasion in the abdomen prior to the start. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards, a Starter's Assistant and Mr DeFilippi, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and reserved their decision on penalty. Out of position at the start. Mr DeFilippi was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice. In taking this course of action Stewards took into consideration Mr DeFilippi's recent record in relation to this Rule. Mr DeFilippi also defended a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations alleging that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr DeFilippi the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge.
FRAUD - out of position at the start. Driver S Ottley was issued a warning.
ROSE NOIRE - broke briefly in the score up however was in position at the start. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
LADY VINCENT - driver C DeFilippi defended a breach of Rule 303(2) alleging that he misconducted himself when kicking the mare on one occasion in the abdomen prior to the start. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards, a Starter's Assistant and Mr DeFilippi, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and reserved their decision on penalty. On 14 February the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $400.
Trainer A Lethaby admitted a charge under Rule 305(c) in that she failed to advise Stewards that ANN SOPHIE had been treated for a virus since last racing and was fined $200 by the Adjudicative Committee.
Race 3   JOHN MORRISON FARRIER, KEN McRAE & DAVE McHUGH PACE
LAY ON MACDUFF - driver B Hope was warned for being late to arrive at the start area. Mr Hope advised the sliding blinds were unable to be activated despite his efforts. Trainer D Burrows was issued with a warning for failing to affix this gear so as not to malfunction.
ROCKETMAN - driver B Weaver was warned for being late to arrive at the start area. Struck several track markers rounding the final bend. Mr Weaver was warned to make a better effort to avoid making contact with track markers in future. Mr Weaver was also warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had not gained an advantage when contacting track markers on the final bend.

NADIRA FRANCO - driver S Clarke was warned for using his whip free of the rein early in the run home.
HEAVEN - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the race. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.

LUSTRE AMOUR - broke shortly after the start hampering trailing runners and losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
NEPHRITE - hung inwards on the final bend striking track markers. Continued to hang inwards in the run home.
JAMES CAGNEY - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Held up throughout the run home. Driver G Smith reported the removable deafeners were not activated in consequence. Mr Smith defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that he drove carelessly when shifting ground abruptly racing into the first bend checking VERY KIWI (R Holmes) which broke. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and both drivers, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Smith's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 18 February up to and including 2 March 2023 (3 days).
SIR MONTY - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start and again racing into the first bend.

AMERICAN SNIPER - hampered leaving the final bend when SO ROCK AROUND shifted outwards.

SILVERLININGS - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing considerable ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming.
BOYZ INVASION - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BUFFY NORTHSTAINS - held up until late in the run home. Driver J Young-Grant reported the removable deafeners were not activated in consequence.
