Race 1   CAVALIER TROTTING PRODUCTS - NORTH CANTERBURY TROTTING TROT
MIGHTY LOGAN - held up leaving the final bend. Trotted roughly late in the run home.
INQUIZITIVE MAN - driver B Wilmott was warned for being late to arrive at the start area.
ROLLIE IN SHOT - slow to begin.
VIRGINIA CLOWERS - broke briefly near the 150m losing ground. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the run home.
SUE'S DASH - broke at the start losing all chance.
T K NIHILATOR - driver S Clarke was warned for being late to arrive at the start area. Hung inwards racing into the first bend. Trotted roughly at various stages throughout. Hung inwards final bend striking track markers.
QUEEN DOREEN - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
BEVRON - raced greenly rounding the final bend.
ROSE ISLE - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
DIDJABRINGTHEBUBBLES - over-raced middle stages. Driver K Butt was issued with a warning for allowing the mare to strike a track marker rounding the final bend.
Race 2   COUNTRY FEASTS LTD - MARIE SNOW MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
LORD PUBLISHER - pre-race warmed. Broke near the 100m and continued on in a break over the finish line. Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the gelding had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. After viewing the replays driver R Close did not contest the protest and LORD PUBLISHER was disqualified by the Stewards. Mr Close advised the gelding had hung outwards at various stages causing him difficulty.
MIDSUMMER DREAMING - weakened from the 800m. When questioned regarding the performance driver D Burrows reported the gelding had over-raced during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the horse.
NEPHRITE - pre-race warmed. Broke after 200m hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
DOVER TERRACE - weakened from the 800m. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Cox advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
SO ROCK AROUND - hampered by a breaking runner after 200m.
JAMES CAGNEY - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Driver G Smith advised the removable deafeners and sliding blinds were not activated in consequence.

REIGNING ARDEN - raced wide early.
NADIRA FRANCO - connections advised Stewards the mare would be racing in foal. Raced wide without cover from the 700m. Weakened final bend.
SHEZ LOOKING - hung inwards final bend striking a track marker.
HIKOI HINE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
Race 4   RANGIORA NEW WORLD FILLIES & MARES HANDICAP TROT
NOAH MAGNIFIC - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again near the 500m losing all chance.
ALI LINDENNY - broke at the start losing ground.
CALL THIS FUN - broke leaving the final bend losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
BELLA BUTTON - hampered leaving the final bend. Driver S Lethaby was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
SILVERLININGS - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Held up early in the run home. Driver D Burrows admitted a breach of Rule 859(2) in that he allowed his mare to start from the incorrect barrier position. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $400.
VERTIGO - driver L McCormick was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
IDLE STUARTIA - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 5   HSW ACCOUNTANTS - PROMED EDGEWARE DOCTORS MOBILE PACE
ROCK N DIAMONDS - Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1200m after ROCK N DIAMONDS briefly raced wider on the track when WITH GRACE had shifted ground outwards. After viewing the replays which proved inconclusive, Stewards were not satisfied ROCK N DIAMONDS had been forced to race wider on the track and took the matter no further.
WITH GRACE - trainer M Smolenski was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the mare to race with sliding blinds and removable deafeners which had not been notified.
WEBS REACTOR - weakened final bend.
RAGING ON - held up early in the run home.
MOODY RIVER - over-raced early and middle stages.
AMARLA - connections advised Stewards the mare has been treated for muscle tie up since last racing.
FAST ACE - driver R Cameron reported he dropped his whip near the 1200m.
Race 6   GLENN SCOTT MEMORIAL TROT
RACHMANINOV - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Stewards questioned driver T Grant regarding the tactics he adopted passing the 500m when electing to shift ground outwards from trailing the leader JESPER FAST to a position in the running line following SLIPPERY MISTRESS. Mr Grant explained that he was of the opinion that JESPER FAST was under pressure with its driver having already activated the removable deafeners and he felt that gelding may commence to weaken so rather than risk being held up he felt his best option was to shift outwards to race on the back of SLIPPERY MISTRESS who was travelling well at the time. After considering Mr Grant's explanation Stewards were satisfied that his tactics were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further.
JESPER FAST - broke briefly at the start.
ANNA'S BOY - raced four wide from the 700m.
IDEAL INVASION - broke after 100m losing ground. Raced wide early and middle stages. Weakened from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
BLINK N BONES - raced wide early.
CLASSIC CALL - fractious prior to the start and began awkwardly. Trotted roughly rounding the final bend. Driver M Williamson advised the removable deafeners failed to activate due to the cord breaking.
RUTHLESS LIZZIE - raced four wide with cover from the 700m.
RACEY KRUSA - raced four wide with cover from the 700m.
Race 7   CLARKVILLE STOCKFEEDS LTD MOBILE PACE
SARASOTA SUNSET - driver J Curtin was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion leaving the final bend.
FRANCO CORNEL - paced roughly as the start was effected having to be steadied. Broke near the 300m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
SOPHIA BROMAC - raced wide early. Driver C DeFilippi was spoken to advisedly for the manner he drove rounding the first bend to ensure he has a sufficient advantage when attempting to ease an inside runner down the track.
EVIDENTLY - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room late in the run home.
PHILADELPHIA FILLY - held up early in the run home.
Trainer C Wigg advised Stewards on 2 March that VRILO has had both knees and fetlocks treated since last racing.
Race 8   RANGIORA EQUINE SERVICES AMBERLEY CUP (HCP PACE)
COPPERHEAD ROSE - over-raced middle stages.
BUCKSKIN - held up throughout the run home. Driver S O'Reilly reported the removable deafeners were not activated in consequence.
DENNIS DENUTO - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home. Driver R Close reported the removable deafeners failed to activate due to the cord becoming entangled.
CHAL PATCH - raced wide early.
JOHNNY MAC - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
DASHING MAJOR - driver J Dunn admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
FRANCO MAREK - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
DI CAPRIO - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home. A clip on the two minute breastplate detached during the running.
Race 9   VALLEY INN TAVERN HANDICAP TROT
SPELLS OF LOVE - trotted roughly throughout the run home and was unable to be driven out.
RED HARBOUR - broke at the start and shifted outwards hampering an outside runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
SODS LAW - hampered at the start when RED HARBOUR shifted outwards. Held up throughout the run home.
TU TANGATA - broke near the 70m and continued on in a break across the finish line. Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the gelding had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. After viewing the replays driver P Nairn did not contest the protest and TU TANGATA was disqualified by the Stewards.
MAUI - became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of TU TANGATA near the 1400m and had to be steadied after a slight easing of the pace. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room until late in the run home.
Race 10   TYRE GENERAL AMBERLEY MOBILE PACE
THERESA LOVE - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
EL CHICO - over-raced middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend. Driver G Smith reported that in his opinion the gelding may have choked down.
Race 11   DAWE CONTRACTING LTD - DAVIS OGILVIE MOBILE PACE
RUBY'S A DELIGHT - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
RAZORS EDGE - held up early in the run home. Driver J Geddes admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip free of the rein on one occasion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.
VINCENT VEGA - driver M Cations admitted a charge under Rule 858(1)(a) in that he delayed the start when being late to arrive at the start area. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200. Mr Cations also admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip free of the rein on one occasion in the run home. In taking this course of action Stewards were mindful of Mr Cations' recent record in relation to this rule. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Cations driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 12 February up to and including 23 February 2023 (3 days).
ITZ MAGICAL MEG - raced wide early.
CHANGEAROUND - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1200m. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
GLENGARRY MOONLIGHT - raced wide without cover from the 700m.
MORRIES GIRL - co-trainer G Hope advised Stewards the mare has had a knee treated since last racing. Hung outwards and broke near the 350m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the horse.
