| SIR BRIGADOON - the adjourned investigation was reconvened where it was established that the gelding had galloped shortly after the start and then caught the near knee boot on the hopple loop which stripped the carrier resulting in the loop dropping causing SIR BRIGADOON to stumble. A warning was placed on this runner's barrier manners. |

Stewards lodged a Protest under Rule 869A(2) against this runner's 2nd placing alleging interference to VIRGINIA CLOWERS over the final stages. After viewing the replays and hearing the relative evidence the Adjudicative Committee upheld the Protest and relegated MIGHTY LOGAN to 3rd place. Driver J Morrison admitted an associated charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in this incident by allowing his gelding to shift ground. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Morrison's driver's licence upto and including 3 February (2 days). | |

After hearing the relative evidence from drivers G Thornley (KOWHAI SHADOW), R Holmes (ACENTO) and viewing the replays it was established that Mr Holmes had been in the process of conceding his position in the running line when being shifted inwards by KOWHAI SHADOW however his mare had over-raced contributing to the locking of wheels. Given the circumstances Stewards took the matter no further. | |
