Race 1   OFF THE TRACK FOOD & BEV TROT
SKEE KING - trotted roughly rounding the final turn losing ground.
SIR HENRY CASTLETON - broke at the start losing all chance.
LITTLEBITOFLOVE - Trainer J Abernethy was warned for presenting the gelding to race with the incorrect number. Broke briefly near the 1500m. Commenced to give ground near the 900m. Broke again near the 750m losing ground before settling. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming.
LOVE POTION - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
THE LAWMAN - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
PRINCE ENVY - raced wide early and middle stages.
CRUISE CONTROL - commenced to weaken near the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing performance.
Race 2   CAMBRIDGE RACEWAY HIRE EQUIPMENT MOBILE PACE
NO MERCY - lay inwards early in the run home and was corrected by Driver T Mitchell. Continued to lay in over the final stages.
HEE - raced keenly middle stages on the slow tempo.
YOU LITTLE BEAUTY - when questioned regarding the performance Driver D Butcher advised that he was not disappointed with the run given the fast final quarter in 27.9.
Race 3   TOTE BURGER OPEN NOW MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when the mobile was unable to accelerate clear of the field. The mobile was then tested prior to the second attempt at a start and functioned correctly.
EASY DOES IT - broke at the start and locked wheels with an outside runner before settling towards the rear. Leniency was extended when assessing penalty given the false start. Gave ground final turn.
MOSSDALE MAY - hampered when locking wheels with a breaking runner shortly after the start.
HESASHORETHING - Driver T Hanara was warned for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
HELLOFASPORTSTAR - lay in at various stages and in particular when attempting to improve three wide approaching the 400m.
ARTISAN - lay in rounding the final turn and early in the run home.
Race 4   IKE UNSWORTH COLLIERS HANDICAP TROT
YA KNOW - broke at the start losing all chance.
Race 5   HIDDEN LAKE HOTEL & APARTMENTS MOBILE PACE
PACING HOPE - over-raced middle stages.
LETSGODANCING - weakened final turn.
LINCOLN RIVER - raced wide early.
PETER FORSBERG - raced keenly approaching the 1000m when being restrained to take cover. Driver F Schumacher was spoken to advisedly in relation to using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home.
I EXPECT BETTOR - cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts. Lay in before weakening on the final turn.
Race 6   LES HARRISON TRANSPORT CAMBRIDGE FLYING STAKES MOB TROT
CALL ME TROUBLE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
MATADEROS - slow early stages. Lay in rounding the final turn and then broke near the 300m. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. Co-trainer R Dunn advised that MATADEROS would undergo an extensive veterinary examination in the coming days and undertook to inform Stewards of the findings.
Race 7   WAIKATO SUMMER CUP HANDICAP PACE
THEMIGHTY MIKI - broke at the start losing ground. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the trainer's request.
BET WEST - Driver L Hollis was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and loose reining in the run home.
OHOKA ACHILLES - paced roughly on several occasions over the early stages. Driver J Stormont encountered difficulty activating the deafeners in the run home.
BAD MEDICINE - raced wide early. Locked wheels briefly with ZARIAS near the 2100m.
ROUGH AND READY - shifted out on straightening for the run home.
ZARIAS - began awkwardly. Locked wheels briefly with BAD MEDICINE near the 2100m. Held up final turn and had some difficulty obtaining clear running early in the run home.
NEW YORK MINUTE - broke at the start losing ground. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial from a stand prior to resuming. Paced roughly near the 250m.
Race 8   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS MOBILE PACE
MAY DELIGHT - held up early final turn.
FLEETING GRIN - weakened final turn.
PIIKI WHARA - weakened final turn.
JACCKA COOPER - raced wide early and middle stages before crossing to the position outside the leader near the 1300m. Commenced to weaken near the 400m.
CAULFIELD - held up briefly final turn.
Race 9   JOIN TAYLOR ST CLUB NOW TROT
MAKE THINGS HAPPEN - lay out under pressure in the run home. Driver D McGowan admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip free of the rein on one occasion early in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
DEBBIE LEE GALLEON - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again near the 1750m but soon settled. Trotted roughly approaching the 700m.
ELLE BEE JAY - broke shortly after the start and settled at the rear. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 400m.
HUGHIE WALLACE - broke at the start losing ground before settling. Broke again approaching the winning post on the first occasion losing further ground.
STASH THE CASH - broke near the 400m hampering trailing runners and lost its chance.
CONRAD H - paced off the mark and continued on in a pace for some distance over the early stages. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 400m. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages. Driver Z Butcher was warned to ensure that he makes a greater effort to take immediate corrective action to return his horse to its correct gait in the future.
ULTIMATE MOMENT - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
