DASHER - Stewards questioned driver M Howard regarding the tactics he adopted during the running when establishing a significant lead over the remainder of the field before weakening over the concluding stages. Mr Howard explained that the filly had commenced to strike its sulky wheels in the early stages which had caused the horse to race fiercely and he was unable to restrain the filly further as she had continued to make contact with the wheels when he had attempted to take hold to allow the horse some respite. After viewing the replays which supported Mr Howard's explanation, no further action was deemed necessary. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. | |
