Mr Ferguson explained that his mare had hung outwards when leading through the middle stages and in particular inside the final 400 metres when placed under pressure. After considering Mr Ferguson's explanation which was confirmed on the replays, Stewards took the matter no further.

After considering Mr McIlwrick's explanation and taking into account a subsequent Veterinary examination which revealed the gelding to be showing signs of a respiratory infection, Stewards issued Mr McIlwrick with a warning for his lack of judgement and was advised that he must not drive in a manner which leaves himself open to query.
