Race 13 - SPECTATORS NEW MENU MOBILE PACE
Driver T Williams (FERNLEIGH CASH) defended a charge issued by Stewards under 868(2) alleging that he failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures near the 400m when electing not to shift his drive outwards prior to being covered by STEEL THE SHOW when it was both reasonable and permissible for him to do so. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Williams, the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge.

Race 1   AMACRON EQUINE (AMATEUR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
PHONE TAP - driver C Wigg reported that the sliding blinds had not fully activated despite her efforts.
TANE J J - held up early in the run home.
WOLFENSTEIN - driver B White was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the early stages of the run home.
Race 2   AUSTIN THORNTON TROT
PETITE MUSCLE - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
RAKERO WARRIOR - held up for clear racing room throughout the run home. Broke after crossing the finish line and kicked out with the gelding getting its hind leg caught over the crossbar of the sulky. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a superficial skin abrasion and bruising on the right hind leg with no treatment required. Driver G Smith was warned for the manner he drove late in the run home when attempting to improve his position when insufficient room existed.
INQUIZITIVE MAN - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
LUNAR ROSA - trainer A Washington was warned for being late to present the mare on course. Over-raced middle stages.
INSTANT CLASSIC - broke after 200m losing ground. Broke again near the 700m losing further ground.
A LATE LATE PRESSY - over-raced middle stages.
NATIVES INFERNO - broke at the start losing all chance.
SEBASTIAN COE - trotted roughly middle stages. Had to shift wider on the track in the early stages of the run home to obtain clear racing room. Again trotted roughly in the home straight and was unable to be fully driven out.
ONE EL - hampered in the early stages by a breaking runner losing considerable ground. Hung outwards through the middle stages.
PEAKNMONKEY - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again near the 1300m losing all chance. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial prior to resuming.
Race 3   RANGIORA HRC REMEMBERS MARGARET VERMEULEN MOBILE PACE
VALERIE VERDE - broke late in the score up checking trailing runners shortly after the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
TREASURE TRAIL - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start losing all chance.
DULCINEA - paced roughly near the 450m and had to be steadied after becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of VINCENT VEGA which resulted in a slight easing of the pace. Paced roughly in the run home. Driver P Wakelin will be spoken to in the coming days regarding the manner she drove racing into the first bend when crowding an inside runner.
SECRET COCKTAIL - broke near the 1300m losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly. Hampered rounding the final bend. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in a break during the running.
TYKE - raced wide early. Raced four wide from the 800m.
MADAM RULER - crowded racing into the first bend and had to be steadied. Hampered rounding the final bend. Held up until late in the run home.
ELEPHANTINTHEROOM - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Checked and broke rounding the final bend.
BEAUDIENE QUICK STEP - co-trainers C & J DeFilippi were warned for presenting the gelding without the notified Pacifier. Checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Held up final bend.
CORFU BROMAC - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Paced roughly and broke briefly near the 500m and was shifted wider on the track by its driver.
ALL TOO WELL - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
Following this race, Stewards lodged a Request for a Ruling with the Adjudicative Committee to determine whether TREASURE TRAIL (B Butt) and ELEPHANTINTHEROOM (R Holmes) had been denied a fair start. After viewing the replays and hearing from the connections and Stewards, the Adjudicative Committee declared both horses to be runners after it was confirmed that the interference had occurred after the start.
Race 4   CONGRATULATIONS SUNDEES SON - THIRD DOMINION HCP TROT
MASTER CLASS - slow to begin.
EMILY - tangled away. Driver J Curtin was issued with a warning for shifting inwards leaving the final bend and contacting the final track marker prior to the passing lane.
SHOW THE WAY - tangled away. Broke near the 400m losing its chance.
GINAS MAJESTY - fractious prior to the start and began awkwardly. Held up final bend. Trotted roughly throughout the run home.
LIL MISS MUSCLES - broke at the start losing all chance.
T K MEGASTAR - weakened in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver R Holmes advised the filly had peaked on its run inside the final 200m however was of the opinion the horse would derive considerable benefit from the race given it was its first start back from a lengthy spell.
STARLIGHT GAZER - broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Trotted roughly passing the 1000m losing ground.
WITH GRACE - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance and was retired from the race.
MAJESTIC WHISPER - trotted roughly in the run home.
LENINGRAD - the connections advised the gelding has been treated for muscle tie up since last racing. Trotted roughly when weakening final bend.
Race 5   ROSS JAMISON MEMORIAL PACE
PURE COURAGE - held up final bend and early in the run home.
FRANCO CORNEL - broke at the start and shifted outwards locking wheels with MOVE IT ON OVER. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
PIXIE - held up final bend.
MOVE IT ON OVER - checked by a breaking runner at the start and locked wheels losing all chance.
STAMP DUTY(AUS) - driver G Smith reported his foot slipped from the sulky footrest late in the run home.
REFORMED - weakened leaving the final bend.
Race 6   HABIBI INTA NOW AVAILABLE AT PHOEBE STUD 2YO MOBILE TROT
SUNNYS SISTER - broke near the 300m losing all chance. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial prior to resuming. The connections advised they would give consideration to sending the filly for a spell.
MONARCH PRINCE - broke late in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the colt.
TECTONIC - hung outwards and over-raced through the middle stages.
CAPPAHA - broke near the 500m losing all chance.
CONFESSIONAL - trotted roughly in the run home.
Race 7   'BUY KIWI MADE' PACE
MAJOR COLLECT - tangled away.
EXECUTIVE BANNER - hung inwards rounding the final bend and early in the run home crowding inside runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
EBURY STREET - paced roughly rounding the final bend losing ground. Trainer/driver G Smith advised he would be making gear adjustments prior to the filly resuming.
VALIANT ANGEL - paced roughly racing into the first bend losing ground. Locked wheels with PRINCESS LEIA early in the run home after being crowded by an outside runner.
GET KRAKEN - broke at the start losing ground.
PRINCESS LEIA - locked wheels with VALIANT ANGEL early in the run home which was crowded by an outside runner.
Race 8   CHRISTMAS AT THE RACES AT RANGIORA 18 DEC MOBILE PACE
IT'S ME - weakened final bend.
FAST ACE - driver R Cameron will be spoken to in the coming days regarding the manner he used his whip in the run home.
KING ARTHUR - driver J Morrison reported that the near side hopple shortener had become entangled around his left rein passing the 2000m placing him at a considerable disadvantage resulting in him having difficulty in restraining his runner to surrender the lead.
NO GEE ESS TEE - over-raced middle stages. Weakened final bend. The connections reported that the mare may have choked down.
OPAWA LOUIE - broke in the score up and was back a distance at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened leaving the final bend.
PRESS PLAY - broke late in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
