Stewards questioned driver R Close regarding his tactics leaving the final bend when not shifting wider on the track when an opportunity existed. Mr Close explained that he had attempted to shift the filly wider on the track passing the 250m however the horse had paced roughly and hung inwards despite his efforts and had failed to improve wider as he had anticipated. Mr Close added he would be recommending gear changes prior to the filly resuming. After considering Mr Close's explanation which was verified on the replays, Stewards took the matter no further. | |

When questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety advised the colt had worked hard in the early and middle stages to obtain a forward position and considering this he was pleased with the performance. Mr Dalgety added that he expected the horse to derive considerable benefit from the race which was its first start back from a spell. |
