Driver T Mitchell (MM SUNSHINE) was spoken to advisedly regarding his whip action on several occasions early in the run home.

Race 1   TAB EXPRESS PAY OUT NOW HERE MOBILE PACE
MR INCREDIBLE - lay inwards final bend losing ground.
PACING HOPE - over-raced for a distance passing the 1700m when attempting to obtain cover. Unable to maintain its position when trailing SKIPPER passing the 1150m despite the efforts of junior driver A Harrison which resulted in MO SZYSLAK being able to shift down to take up the vacant position.
MY COPY - attempted to improve three wide passing the 1400m before having to be restrained near the 1000m when being unsuccessful in reaching the parked position. Weakened leaving the final bend.
NELSON'S BOY - lay inwards at various stages and in particular rounding the final bend and early in the run home.
BENJAMIN BUTTON - lay inwards during the score up. Held up rounding the final bend.
SKIPPER - over-raced middle stages when being restrained in an attempt to obtain cover. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver T Herlihy reported he was pleased with the performance considering the gelding had over-raced.
Race 2   THE RISING HAWAII WAHINE TOA - SPEEDING SPUR 3YO MOBILE TROT
TAYLAD TO USE - trotted roughly rounding the final bend and throughout the run home.
KOWHAI SUNSET - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
AHWEL - weakened leaving the final bend.
CON GRAZIA LOVE - lay outwards under pressure throughout the run home.
AMERICAN MUSCLE - trotted roughly after 150m and had to be steadied.
Race 3   VECTOR WERO WHITEWATER PARK MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed when the tongue tie on DONTSTOPMENOW had to be replaced.
SLY TERROR - lay inwards entering the first bend dislodging a track marker.
LYDIA'S ART - lay inwards entering the first bend dislodging a track marker.
BAZ - hung inwards late in the run home and raced over the final track marker.
TUGAWAR - paced roughly shortly after the start. Briefly hampered by LOU BABY which shifted outwards passing the 200m and again near the 50m.
DONTSTOPMENOW - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
NO ADDED SUGAR - broke entering the first bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
LOU BABY - lay outwards throughout the run home briefly hampering TUGAWAR passing the 200m and again near the 50m. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards spoke with driver S Abernethy (TUGAWAR) regarding this incident. Mr Abernethy advised his chances had not been affected and elected not to proceed with the matter.
FLYING COLOURS - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend.
Race 4   100% APPLIANCES MOBILE TROT
TAKE THE MONARCH - broke shortly after the start settling at the rear. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SUPERFAST NINJA - over-raced middle stages.
ALDEBARAN FLAME - shifted outwards entering the home straight when leading. Junior driver M Hurrell was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
Race 5   JP & ASSOCIATES LTD CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS MOB PACE
HOLYROOD - co-trainer D Ferguson advised the mare has been served since last racing.
MIKI MONTANA - checked and broke entering the first bend. Paced roughly in the run home.
TWICE SHY - late scratching at 10.23am on Veterinary advice.
PERFECT BET - broke entering the first bend checking trailing runners but soon settled. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
I'LLAVABUBBLES - checked and broke entering the first bend.
ARTISAN - checked and had to take evasive action entering the first bend.
LADY OF THE LIGHT - checked and had to take evasive action entering the first bend. Trainer J Young advised that the filly had cast its off fore shoe during the running.
Race 6   DUE DROP EVENTS CENTRE MOBILE PACE
CRUSADER - weakened leaving the final bend.
HESASHORETHING - over-raced early stages. Paced roughly final bend before breaking near 250m losing its chance. Driver J Abernethy reported the entire had become unbalanced after being hampered by the weakening CRUSADER resulting in the horse breaking.
THEMIGHTY MIKI - over-raced early stages.
NICHOLAS CAGE - slow to leave the pre-race formation however was in position prior to dispatch.
RIVERMAN SAM - weakened leaving the final bend.
Race 7   KERRY HOGGARD MEMORIAL - THE HOLMES D G HANDICAP PACE
NEW YORK MINUTE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ROUGH AND READY - commenced to give ground passing the 600m.
LAST TANGO IN HEAVEN - paced roughly racing into the first bend.
TAIPO - paced roughly near the 1300m when OLD TOWN ROAD improved forward to its outside.
HOT AND TREACHEROUS - over-raced middle stages.
Race 8   KITCHEN THINGS HANDICAP TROT
The start was delayed after SACRED MOUNTAIN cast a shoe during the preliminary which was refitted by the Farrier.
The start was further delayed when several runners became fractious when called forward onto the barriers.
SPECIAL WAY - late scratching at 2.54pm on Veterinary advice.
AFLYIN SPUR - permission was granted for the gelding to race without half hopples. Broke approaching the first bend losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
MASSIVE METRO - held up final bend.
INVICTUS - broke shortly after the start losing ground before settling.
Race 9   THE GEM JOURNEY MOBILE PACE
BETTOR THAN BRONZE - driver S Burley was warned for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. In taking this course of action Stewards were mindful of Miss Burley's clear record in relation to this rule.
DIAMOND MOUNTED - hung outwards in the early stages and paced roughly. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early and middle stages of the run home.
GWYNETH P - over-raced middle stages. Lay outwards leaving the final bend. Junior driver N Delany (assisted by J Stormont) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Delany's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 20 October 2022 (2 days).
MY LITTLE BIG MAN - held up by a weakening runner leaving the final bend.
WORKS FOR ME - when questioned regarding the performance driver Z Butcher advised that the filly which was having its first start had raced lethargically however was of the opinion the horse would derive considerable benefit from the race.
ELATED - weakened leaving the final bend.
Race 10   THE RISING FOUNDATION MOBILE TROT
MARIA THERESA - broke briefly entering the first bend.
SON OF A SUN - trotted roughly final bend losing ground.
LUVSA COLD ONE - raced keenly after improving to the lead passing the 1400m. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Butcher advised the gelding had worked hard in the early stages with the effort taking its toll.
ESCAPE THE PACE - broke near the 1200m losing all chance.
