Junior driver K Tomlinson (OLIVE COOK) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulation in that she used her whip in a continuous manner in the run home. After hearing submissions from the Stewards and Miss Tomlinson the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.

RANDOM SPUR - trotted roughly near the 200m.
SOARING - broke at the start. Broke again when negotiating the crossing near the 1700m. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
WITH PURPOSE - lay inwards throughout the run home.

THE MATRIARCH - hampered and broke near the 1700m.

SHANDON BELLS - Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule when SHANDON BELLS shifted ground outwards near the 1900m resulting in LOVE ROSE momentarily racing wider on the track. After viewing replays Stewards were unable to attribute blame solely to driver M Hurrell and took the matter no further.
EMMA LOUISE - hampered near the 300m.
AIGUILLE - slow away.
SUNNY SON - broke at the start.
MC SQUARED - over-raced middle stages. Broke near the 300m hampering a trailing runner.
JERRY GARCIA - late scratching at 10.45am due to no suitable driver being available.

ARIZONAWILDCAT - driver T Mitchell was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the middle stages of the run home.

IT'S A SHAWTHING - junior driver S Iremonger (assisted by R Holmes) defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that he drove carelessly near the 1400m when easing the pace resulting in trailing runners being hampered. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mr Iremonger's drivers licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 2 October 2022 (2 days).
HES SANTAS EXCUSE - raced wide early stages. Hampered and broke near the 1400m.
SONGBIRD - hampered when there was an easing of the pace near the 1400m.
ROCK N DIAMONDS - hampered when there was an easing of the pace near the 1400m. Held up middle stages of the run home.
NYLA - hampered when there was an easing of the pace near the 1400m and lay outwards when being restrained hampering a trailing runner.
Race 7   DOWNBYTHESEASIDE AT WOODLANDS STUD MOBILE PACE
BUBBA SCRUB - broke briefly near the 1700m.
ROSIES TERROR - awkwardly placed close to the wheel of NOT OVER passing the 1600m when over-racing shifting outwards marginally.
DREAMINSOVER - sustained a punctured sulky wheel near the 500m.
MOTOR MOUTH - broke near the 1600m hampering trailing runners.
EVIDENTLY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
NO GEE ESS TEE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600m.
NED KELLY - shifted outwards and contacted the wheel of DREAMINSOVER near the 500m. Stewards will speak to driver R Houghton in the coming days regarding this matter.
Race 8   MAJESTIC SON DG JONES BANKS PENINSULA CUP (HCP TROT)
AVEROSS MAJESTY - broke shortly after the start losing ground.
KAHRESS - over-raced middle stages.
CHIEF OF STAFF - the connections requested a post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which revealed a slow recovery also advising they will be taking bloods in the coming days and will report any findings to the Stewards.
OSCAR BONAVENA - driver R Close reported that he sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running. Taken off the unruly for future standing starts at the trainer's request.
Race 9   PAUL RENWICK JOINERY LTD FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
IKSAKA - weakened rounding the final bend.
KATHERINE - raced three wide without cover from the 800m.
Race 10   THANKS TO MURRAY, KELLY & THE EDMONDS FAMILY TROT
UNICO VACANZA - held up throughout the run home.
GALLEONS AMBASSADOR - trainer J Morrison advised that the mare will be racing in season. Cast a shoe during the warm up. Broke at the start.
BROTHER LOVE - broke at the start.
SHOW THE WAY - broke at the start.
THE FIERY SPIRIT - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
RUSH - broke over the concluding stages and was lapped on when in a break over the finish line. Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded to the mare. The connections did not contest the Protest and the Adjudicative Committee relegated the horse to 5th placing. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. The connections also advised that the mare will race with no whip required in the future.
MUSCLYNN - over-raced early stages.
PAIGE - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
TAKE NOTICE - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
PALISADE - broke at the start.
Race 11   HAPPY BIRTHDAY PETE - I SEE GOLD, I SEE GOLD MOBILE PACE
NO MATTER WAT - paced roughly shortly after the start. Paced roughly for a distance passing the 200m and stumbled and broke near the 100m before settling. Stewards lodged a Protest under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the filly had continued in a break for a distance in excess of 50m. After viewing the films and hearing submissions from the Stewards and junior driver O Thornley the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the Protest. Miss Thornley advised she would be recommending gear changes in the future.
MOONLITE DREAM - when asked to comment on the performance driver R Close reported the filly had to work too hard early which had taken its toll over the concluding stages.
