Race 1   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION. MOBILE PACE
PEARL'S A SINGER - hung outwards on the final bend when weakening. Continued to hang outwards throughout the run home.
CHRISLYNN - held up final bend and early in the run home.
MAJOR TORQUE - over-raced for a distance passing the 1500m when becoming awkwardly placed to the inside of SMOKE ON THE WATER after an easing of the pace.
AUDACITY - out of position at the candy pole and start. Driver R Cameron was issued a warning. Paced roughly near the 1400m when contacting the sulky wheel of MAJOR TORQUE after a slight easing of the pace. Weakened leaving the final bend.
Race 2   WOODLANDS STUD- 30 YEARS OF WORLD CLASS BREEDING MOBILE PACE
FRANCO CORNEL - broke near the 200m hampering a trailing runner.
HEY TONIGHT - had to be steadied near the 900m when there was a slight easing of the pace in the one out line.
FAST ACE - broke near the 100m when attempting to avoid a breaking runner when shifting ground inwards. Despite this driver R Cameron was issued with a warning and advised in similar circumstances he is expected to be more aware of actions of the horses ahead of him.
SNEAK A PEEK - lay inwards leaving the final bend striking several track markers.
TOWER OF LOVE - paced roughly when racing wide on the first bend. Held up final bend and early in the run home.
TERROR EYES - broke briefly in the score up. Raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1200m.
MAID OF MONEY - held up early in the run home.
Race 3   ALABAR 'WORLD CLASS SIRES' TWO-YEAR-OLD MOBILE TROT
SUNNYS SISTER - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. Broke near the 100m.
CONFESSIONAL - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke near the 300m hampering a trailing runner.
EYRE I WILL - driver S Ottley reported the gelding had cast the near hind shoe during the running.
MONARCH PRINCE - broke after 100m losing all chance.
TECTONIC - hampered by a breaking runner near the 300m.
Race 4   THE BOX SEAT RETURNS 21 SEPTEMBER MOBILE PACE
MOSSDALE TERRY - over-raced early and became awkwardly placed to the inside of STEPHS BOY near the 1700m and paced roughly after contacting the sulky wheel of that runner. Weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Hope advised the gelding had over-raced on occasions during the running and had also been making abnormal breathing noises. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Mr Hope advised he would be recommending gear changes prior to the gelding resuming.
STEPHS BOY - shifted inwards near the 1700m resulting in MOSSDALE TERRY, which had commenced to over-race, being placed in restricted room and contacting the sulky wheel of STEPHS BOY. Stewards questioned drivers G O'Reilly (STEPHS BOY) and B Hope (MOSSDALE TERRY) regarding this incident. After hearing from both parties and viewing the films Mr O'Reilly was issued with a warning to ensure he must exercise greater care when shifting ground notwithstanding MOSSDALE TERRY was over-racing. Driver B Hope was issued with a warning to ensure that he must cease driving his runner forward once positions are not fully available for him to improve into. Mr O'Reilly was also issued with a warning for using his whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
KOWHAI SHADOW - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
NO TERROR - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver B Orange. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the colt. Hung inwards for a distance when improving wide on the track near the 1200m.
TIGER TAYLOR - held up leaving the final bend.
Race 5   MARCOOLA AT NEVELE R STUD FREE-FOR-ALL MOBILE TROT
ENGHIEN - raced wide without cover from the 700m.
MIDNIGHT DASH - driver B Hope was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion leaving the final bend and early in the run home.
MATUA TANA - broke in the score up and was back from the unruly position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 6   HARRISON BLOY HANDICAP PACE
ARTATAC - broke briefly at the start.
BETTOR BELIEVE IT - broke at the start losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 200m.
JIMMY ARMA - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
MANJIMUP - began awkwardly. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
JAZELLE - broke at the start losing ground and hampering a trailing runner. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 200m.
HAZER - broke near the 200m hampering trailing runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
SAM'S TOWN - broke at the start losing ground. Weakened final bend hampering trailing runners.
CHEEZEL - briefly hampered by a breaking runner at the start. When questioned regarding the performance driver R Close advised the mare had travelled well however had failed to respond when asked for an effort inside the final 400m and proved disappointing. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
ALLAMERICANLOVER - hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
Trainer R Todd advised Stewards on 22 September that CHEEZEL has recovered well and it was intended to have the mare served prior to resuming.
Race 7   WOODLANDS STUD SIRES STAKES 'HARNESS 7000' MOBILE PACE
MISTER BLUE SKY - weakened from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
BRI EXPRESS - crowded by an outside runner racing into the first bend. Weakened from the 500m.
HAIL LUCIUS - broke briefly leaving the first bend. Broke again near the 900m losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver R Close reported the gelding had been striking its knees and he would be recommending gear changes.
AARDIE'S EXPRESS - driver T Williams was issued a warning for crowding an inside runner racing into the first bend.
Race 8   CUP WEEK TICKETS SELLING FAST - GAME PRIDE 3YO MOBILE TROT
MISS YO - held up until late in the run home. Driver Z Butcher advised that the filly had hung outwards in the run home when he had attempted to shift inwards to utilise the passing lane causing him some difficulty.
EMILY - hung inwards final bend.
EL CONQUEROR - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Butt advised he was not disappointed with the effort considering it was the gelding's first race back from a spell and having to race parked. Mr Butt added he expected the gelding to derive benefit from the race.
REGAL SIERRA - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
SUNNY LOUIS - raced wide early.
HOT TO TROT - raced wide early.
Race 9   FIRST DIRECT TAXIS HANDICAP PACE
PRESS PLAY - stood on the mark and swung outwards severely checking a trailing runner and lost all chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
TAKEMYBREATHAWAY - held up leaving the final bend.
DANCE TILL DAWN - broke at the start losing ground. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised the filly had worked hard through the middle stages when improving three wide to race parked with the effort taking its toll.
STAR CASINO - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Held up early in the run home. Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the gelding had broken in excess of 150m in the early stages. After viewing the films and hearing evidence from Stewards and driver J Curtin the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the protest.
MEGAROCK - tangled away.
ARIZONAWILDCAT - tangled away.
FOVEAUX GAMBLER - severely checked at the start with driver S Tomlinson being unbalanced in the sulky and losing all chance.
ANYTHING GOES - driver D van Til reported the removable deafeners were not activated due to having the field covered.
