The mare was immediately attended to by the on course veterinarian and removed from the track in the horse ambulance. A subsequent veterinary examination of BETTER GALLEON revealed no initial abnormalities with the mare being transported to a local veterinary clinic to undergo further assessment. Junior driver D Anderson, assisted by C Ferguson, was spoken to regarding retiring the mare from the race. After hearing from all parties Mr Anderson was advised he would be expected to make a more assertive decision in the future when it came to assessing the gait of a horse. In making this decision Stewards took into account Mr Anderson's limited experience in race-day driving.
SAGWITCH - shifted down the track under pressure in the run home having to be corrected by junior driver M Hill.
ELOUISA DALE - broke in the score-up however recovered to be in position at the start.

PROVISEUR - started from the incorrect barrier position. Authorisation of placings was withheld whilst Stewards spoke with driver B Barclay regarding this. Mr Barclay advised he was directed to start from the Unruly by the Starter Mr N Popham. After viewing replays and hearing from Mr Barclay Stewards were satisfied that PROVISEUR had not started in advance of its correct barrier position and had not gained any advantage therefore no action was deemed necessary other than to issue Mr Popham with a warning that he ensures all horses start from the correct barrier position in future.
