Race 1   WILLY'S FLOORING LTD TROT
JUSTINE JACCKA - trotted roughly throughout the run home and could not be fully driven out by driver B Barclay.
TERROR COVE - broke passing the 1700m losing all chance.
ANTEROS - over-raced in the early and middle stages. Lay inwards at various stages throughout.
ITS INDI - broke near the 1600m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
Race 2   FORKLIFTS NZ MOBILE PACE
DALNESS ARIZONA - lay inwards rounding the first bend. When asked to comment on the performance driver M Williamson advised in his opinion the gelding had not backed up from its previous race last Sunday.
I'M WATCHING YOU - driver K Larsen reported he had sustained a punctured sulky tyre in the run home.
SWEDISH STARLET - when asked to comment on the improved performance trainer B Gray advised the mare had benefitted from a drop in class of opposition today and had received an economical trip throughout.
ROCKIN VA VA - held up final bend and over-raced making contact with the sulky wheel of I'M WATCHING YOU near the 200m despite the efforts of driver B Orange. Continued to be held up until the latter stages of the run home.
STUNIN STAR - driver J Douglas was issued with a warning for using his whip free of the rein near the 100 metres.
ALEXY - held up final bend. Driver D O'Connell reported the sliding blinds had failed to activate due to the cord becoming entangled.
GREENBACK BOOGIE - raced wide without cover from the 700m.
Race 3   REGENT CAR COURT FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
BRANXHOLME LASS - weakened final bend.
NOTONYOURNALLY - paced roughly rounding the final bend.
VITA VELOCE - permission was granted for the blinds to be removed prior to the start due to the mare warming up unfavourably. Over-raced in the early stages.
CALDWELL - over-raced in the early stages. Eased down passing the 700m and was taken wider on the track. Junior driver M Hurrell reported the mare had over-raced and become very difficult to steer so he elected to ease the horse out of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
WRITERS DELIGHT - over-raced near the 1500m and despite the efforts of driver R McIlwrick made contact with the sulky of BRANXHOLME LASS resulting in the mare breaking and losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
Race 4   TIGER TARA AVAILABLE AT MACCA LODGE MOBILE PACE
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - driver D O'Connell admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations that he used his whip free of the rein throughout the run home. After viewing replays and considering penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr O'Connell's licence to drive from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 8 September 2022 (3 days).
SAGWITCH - when spoken to regarding the improved performance trainer S Breen advised the gelding had benefitted from a favourable draw and an economical trip today in a race run to suit, adding he was not surprised by the forward showing.
JENNY GUMP - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start.
Race 5   UPPERCUTS BUTCHERY TROT
EILISH HALL - trotted roughly in the run home.
COOL PHELAN - broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground.
TOP HAT AND TAILS - broke after 150m losing considerable ground. Weakened leaving the final bend.
TWO MENNY MUSCLES - broke at the start losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
Race 6   WINTON NIGHT 'N DAY COLTS & GELDINGS MOBILE PACE
RAUPUNGA LAD - driver C Ferguson reported he did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
DONALD TROT - weakened leaving the final bend.
TEDDY BAKER - over-raced in the early stages. Weakened final bend.
MATAI HARRY - raced greenly and briefly lost contact with the field near the 600m.
Race 7   SUNFLOWER CAFE / NANA RAILS DRIVE BY ESPRESSO MOBILE PACE
ROBYNS SHADOW - paced roughly in the run home. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
FIREFOREFIDDLE - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
BEEZ NEEZ - raced wide in the early stages.
Race 8   WOODLANDS STUD HANDICAP TROT
DEM BONES DEM BONES - held up leaving the final bend.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. When asked to comment on the improved performance trainer C Buchan advised the gelding had raced well in its previous start without luck and coupled with better manners today he was not surprised by the forward showing.
DOMINATION'S CALL - broke near the 900m losing all chance.
PORT PEGASUS - driver N Williamson reported the gelding had over-raced at various stages throughout.
BREAK OUT - returned to the birdcage enclosure with blood present in one nostril. A post-race veterinary examination revealed this mare had bled. Stood down for the mandatory period of 30 days with connections advised a veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination prior to a satisfactory trial would be required prior to BREAK OUT resuming.
LAURIES LEGACY - pre-race warmed. Broke at the start losing all chance. Stood down to trial from a standing start to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
AVEROSS MAJESTY - slow to begin.
Race 9   ALABAR MOBILE PACE
PERCY - held up leaving the final bend.
THE OPTIMIST - weakened leaving the final bend.
MAGIC SIGN - paced roughly and broke briefly leaving the final bend hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
REDNECK WOMAN - hampered by a breaking runner leaving the final bend.
HALEY ROBYN - hung outwards at various stages throughout.
BROOKIES PLAYER - held up leaving the final bend and early in the run home. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 200m.
