Race 4 - UDY'S GRAIN & FEED / PHILLIPS HORSE TRANSPORT MOBILE PACE
Trainer A Wohlers advised Stewards on 20 August that STUNIN STAR was found to have been suffering from muscle tie up since its last start. He added the mare has responded well to a change in feeding and training regime.

Race 1   BLUFF PROTEINS PACE
LOUBOWSKI - lay out rounding the bends. Lay out near the 900m briefly contacting sulky wheels with RACINGMISSGRACIE.
RACINGMISSGRACIE - briefly contacted sulky wheels with LOUBOWSKI near the 900m before breaking and losing all chance hampering a trailing runner. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
SOPHIE - began awkwardly. Hampered by a breaking runner passing the 900m.
FUN TO ROCKNROLL - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
PRINCESS LEIA - broke briefly shortly after the start.
Race 2   WAITAKI AUTO ELECTRICS/WHISPERING PINES TROT
CAEN - cast the near front shoe during the preliminary with driver B Orange electing to start the gelding with only one front shoe. Broke passing the 2000m losing considerable ground.
DENVER - slow through the early stages losing ground.
ITS INDI - broke after 150m losing considerable ground. Weakened final bend.
ANTEROS - broke at the start losing ground. Over-raced through the middle stages. Raced wide without cover from the 1000m. Weakened final bend. Driver B Williamson reported the gelding had been striking the sulky wheels during the running.
PAIGE - began awkwardly. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
Race 3   MARSHALL TRANSPORT/COMBINED SERVICES CLUB TWIZEL MOB PACE
FRAUD - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Weakened leaving the final bend.
SONIC JO - weakened leaving the final bend.
CRIMSON ROCK - over-raced early stages before shifting out into the running line.
SECRET COCKTAIL - held up over the concluding stages.
JAMES CAGNEY - driver B Orange reported the sliding blinds had failed to activate due to the cord becoming entangled.
Race 4   PGG WRIGHTSON/RURAL TRANSPORT MOBILE PACE
There was a five minute delay to the start after ROSIES TERROR dislodged driver J Morrison in the preliminary.
Following this race Stewards spoke to Starter R Donnelly regarding the starting position of runners on the second line after a late scratching maintaining their position under Starting Regulation 4.5.3.2.
FRIENDLY EYRE - held up middle stages of the run home.
PHONE TAP - over-raced early.
SONGBIRD - raced wide without cover from the 700m.
SISTER'S DELIGHT - over-raced early when being restrained to the rear of the field. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer M Heenan advised the mare had been racing without luck in recent starts and had benefited from being saved for one run.
ROSIES TERROR - declared a late scratching by Stewards under Rule 213(1)(e) due to unsatisfactory manners after bucking in the preliminary and dislodging driver J Morrison. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial prior to resuming. Mr Morrison was examined by St John paramedics and cleared to fulfil his remaining driving engagements.
SPICY GIRL BECQUI - over-raced middle stages. Held up final bend. Returned to the assembly area with a laceration on the right front leg. A veterinary examination revealed a minor abrasion on the right front knee which was bandaged.
TOMMYSONAROLL - improved wide to take the lead in the middle stages. When spoken to regarding the performance driver R Close reported the gelding had worked harder than expected during the middle stages to obtain the lead with the effort taking its toll.
Race 5   MAKING IT HAPPEN: G K FYFE PAINTING TROT
LA REINA DEL SUR - fractious prior to the start.
RUBY SEDDON - trotted roughly in the run home before breaking passing the 100m.
MICKEY JAY - broke near the 500m losing all chance and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
CODY BANNER - raced wide early. Hung inwards and trotted roughly throughout the run home.
TAKE AFTER ME - held up in the middle and latter stages of the run home.
Race 6   FILL RURAL MOBILE PACE
ASIAN ELVIS - paced roughly near the 250m after striking the sulky wheel of MISSMOLLYGOODGOLLY when shifting ground. Driver S Ottley was issued a warning. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer D Mitchell advised he had increased the gelding's workload after being disappointing at its last start when leading and the horse had benefited from an economical run throughout.
MAXIMILIAN - when spoken to regarding the performance driver B Orange advised the gelding had worked too hard through the middle stages to obtain the lead with the effort taking its toll.
R K FINN - when spoken to regarding the performance driver M Williamson advised he was disappointed with the effort and the gelding maybe better suited over shorter distances.
MIGHTY REACTOR - paced roughly at various stages throughout.
SPORTSCAM - hampered by a slight easing of the pace near the 1300m and broke losing all chance.
Race 7   COLLIE HILLS STUD (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Over-raced through the middle stages.
JUDGEMENT BAY - over-raced through the middle stages.
THE RAGE - lay out briefly in the early stages of the run home when under pressure.
BEAUDIENE HUSTLER - Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1500m and after viewing the films it was established that BEAUDIENE HUSTLER had commenced to shift outwards prior to DECEPTIVE LEE reaching its sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary.
DECEPTIVE LEE - raced wider on the track near the 1500m.
SHARDS FURY - raced wide without cover from the 1000m.
Race 8   THE GOLDEN FLEECE HOTEL KUROW TROTTING CUP HCP TROT
LAURIES LEGACY - broke at the start losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
SIOUX PRINCESS - broke at the start losing ground.
FIGHTING FIRE - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
REPEAT PAT - weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised he was disappointed with the effort and was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a bruised left fore heel.
AVEROSS MAJESTY - hung inwards at various stages throughout and lost ground through the middle stages. Weakened from the 500m.
Race 9   TEMUKA TRANSPORT (1967) LTD KUROW CUP HCP PACE
BETTOR BELIEVE IT - co-trainers C & J DeFilippi were issued a warning for not having the correct colours available.
JIMMY ARMA - held up throughout the run home. Driver J Dunn reported the removable deafeners and sliding blinds were not activated in consequence.
HARRISON - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
HAZER - broke at the start losing ground. Driver A Tomlinson was warned for the manner in which she shifted ground near the 200m when crowding an outside runner.
CORRAVALLY STAR - held up leaving the final bend and was crowded near the 200m. When questioned regarding the tactics she adopted during the running driver S Tomlinson advised the horse races best when saved for one run and due to the three wide line not becoming established until leaving the final bend she had been unable to improve her position so elected to shift inwards to save ground. Stewards noted Miss Tomlinson's explanation.
BUCKSKIN - held up for clear racing room in the middle stages of the run home. Driver S O'Reilly advised she had not activated the removable deafeners in consequence and that she had sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
Race 10   DAVE HEFFERNAN PGG WRIGHTSON REAL ESTATE HCP PACE
GRINNING AGAIN - began awkwardly.
TAXMAN - paced roughly at the start. Driver R Close reported that one hopple shortener had failed to activate due to the cord becoming entangled.
RAKE - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver W House advised the gelding had benefited from a recent change in training regime and had received an economical run throughout.
KINGSDOWN ATOM - when questioned regarding the performance trainer M Curry advised that the gelding had worked hard in the early stages to obtain the lead with the effort taking its toll. Mr Curry added that the gelding would now be sent for a spell.
TAKEMYBREATHAWAY - broke at the start.
