Junior driver T Nally was unable to attend the meeting today due to being injured. Mr Nally was replaced on his driving engagements as per the Summary below and advised a Medical Clearance would be required prior to him resuming driving.

Race 1   GORE WORKOUTS TROT
SUPERFASTSUPERSTAR - broke passing the 200m. Stewards lodged a Protest under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation against 4th placing being awarded to this gelding alleging it had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. Connections did not contest the Protest and after viewing replays SUPERFASTSUPERSTAR was disqualified by the Adjudicative Committee.
TERROR COVE - broke passing the 150m.
HARLEEN QUINZEL - paced in the early stages having to be broken up by junior driver S O'Reilly. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
ANTEROS - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Weakened from the 500m. Authorisation of promoted 4th placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when breaking shortly after the start.
COOL PHELAN - driver B Barclay reported he did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
Race 2   GWD MOTORGROUP / TYRELAND MOBILE PACE
TEDDY BAKER - held up final bend.
COSMIC AURUM - over-raced on various occasions. Lay inwards under pressure throughout the run home.
VRILO - weakened from the 350m. When asked to comment on the performance driver J Morrison advised he was disappointed with the effort however could offer no tangible excuse. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the filly with trainer A Stuart in the coming days.
NEMO BANDEIRA - lay inwards on several occasions in the run home having to be corrected by driver S Ottley to maintain a straight course.
NGAROMA - held up final bend and early in the run home.
MAXWELL ROBYN - out of position at the start. Driver A Milne was issued with a warning. Lay inwards throughout the home straight causing driver A Milne some difficulty. When asked to comment on the improved performance Mr Milne advised the gelding had benefitted from the smaller field and improved racing manners today.
Trainer A Stuart advised Stewards on 24 August that VRILO has been sent for a spell.
Race 3   WOODLANDS STUD CELEBRATING 30 YEARS MOBILE PACE
SHERWOOD MAGGIE - junior driver S O'Reilly reported the sliding blinds had failed to activate due to the cord becoming entangled.
SPIRIT OF ARION - shifted down into the passing lane under pressure in the run home despite the efforts of driver M Williamson.
Race 4   UDY'S GRAIN & FEED / PHILLIPS HORSE TRANSPORT MOBILE PACE
STUNIN STAR - weakened from the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the mare with trainer A Wohlers in the coming days.
KRAMER - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Over-raced in the score-up.
FRIENDLY EYRE - briefly hampered by a weakening runner passing the 800m.
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S Tomlinson. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Trainer A Wohlers advised Stewards on 20 August that STUNIN STAR was found to have been suffering from muscle tie up since its last start. He added the mare has responded well to a change in feeding and training regime.
Race 5   GAVELHOUSE.COM STANDARDBRED MOBILE PACE
MATAI HARRY - lay inwards leaving the final bend and again on further occasions in the run home. Driver A Milne was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
WRITERS DELIGHT - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Placed on the Unruly for future mobile engagements at the request of trainer C Laurenson.
TALKIN UNOWHAT - paced roughly before breaking briefly passing the 950m. Continued to pace roughly rounding the final bend before breaking again near the 350m losing all chance.
Race 6   BAYNES FAMILY HANDICAP TROT
SAGE TROUBLE - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
TOP HAT AND TAILS - driver S Ottley was spoken to regarding the position she started on the track when drawn Unruly. Miss Ottley explained the mare had resented the boring pole and was fractious prior to the start causing her some difficulty. Stewards accepted Miss Ottley's explanation.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - broke at the start losing all chance.
ABBY MAY - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Over-raced in the middle stages.
Race 7   TIGER TARA AVAILABLE AT MACCA LODGE MOBILE PACE
PERCY - driver S Tomlinson reported she had sustained a punctured sulky tyre over the concluding stages.
REDNECK WOMAN - over-raced in the early stages.
JABALI - over-raced on various occasions.
I'M TROUBLE - hung outwards in the score-up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 8   THREE RIVERS HOTEL MOBILE PACE
R K FINN - briefly hampered by a weakening runner on the final bend.
BOARDING CALL - paced roughly shortly after the start.
BEEZ NEEZ - raced wider on the track near the 1900m.
WHERE'S DADDY - shifted ground outwards near the 1900m forcing BEEZ NEEZ wider on the track. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out rule at this stage of the race however after viewing replays it was established that junior driver K Tomlinson (WHERE'S DADDY) had commenced her outwards movement prior to BEEZ NEEZ reaching her sulky wheel with no further action deemed necessary. When spoken to regarding the improved performance trainer M Purvis advised that the gelding had performed well without luck in its previous two starts, adding today's race was also a drop in class and the horse had received an economical run which suited.
WHATA RAZZLE DAZZLE - weakened final bend. Driver N Williamson advised he was disappointed with the effort however could offer no tangible excuse. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
BRIGADIERS SON - weakened over the concluding stages.
