Race 6 - SPECTATORS BAR (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE |
At a hearing convened on 3 August, junior driver M Hurrell (who declined the assistance of a senior driver) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home when driving SEAPRIS. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Hurrell's licence from the conclusion of racing on 7 August up to and including 18 August 2022 (3 days). |

LA DAMA - broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Broke again near the 1500m losing all chance. | |

TROT TO CHEVRON - broke rounding the final bend hampering a trailing runner and losing all chance. | |
IT'S SO EASY - paced before breaking racing into the first bend for a considerable distance. Hung inwards and trotted roughly near the 900m losing ground which allowed MC SQUARED to improve inwards ahead of the mare. Stewards lodged a protest against 3rd placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the mare had broken in excess of 150m in the early stages. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and driver P Davis the Adjudicative Committee upheld the protest and IT'S SO EASY was disqualified. | |

WINNING BONES - weakened final bend striking track markers. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver M Williamson advised the gelding had been striking itself on various occasions and he would be considering gear changes prior to the horse resuming. | |
FIGHTING FIRE - trotted roughly before breaking late in the run home. Stewards lodged a protest against 3rd placing being awarded under Rule 870(5) alleging the gelding was lapped on at the finish by MY MOMENT'S NOW. The connections did not contest the protest and after viewing the replays FIGHTING FIRE was relegated to 4th placing by the Adjudicative Committee. | |
REPEAT PAT - hung inwards and struck a track marker which was dislodged near the 1450m. Trotted roughly final bend and in the run home. | |
MY MOMENT'S NOW - trotted roughly late in the run home. Driver T Williams advised the removable deafeners had not fully activated due to the cord breaking. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition. |

The start was delayed nine minutes at the request of the TAB due to an issue with the payment of dividends from the previous race. | |
REBOUND - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange could offer no explanation and was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer R Todd advised he would have blood tests taken from the gelding in the coming days and undertook to notify Stewards of the results. | |
BEAUDIENE QUICK STEP - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. Back from its position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Paced roughly throughout. | |
HANOI FRANCO - weakened leaving the final bend. | |
Trainer R Todd advised Stewards on 9 August that blood tests taken from REBOUND had revealed no abnormalities and the gelding would continue with its current preparation. |
