Race 6 - SPECTATORS BAR (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
At a hearing convened on 3 August, junior driver M Hurrell (who declined the assistance of a senior driver) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home when driving SEAPRIS. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Hurrell's licence from the conclusion of racing on 7 August up to and including 18 August 2022 (3 days).

Trainer T Yesberg advised Stewards on 1 August that ROCKNROLL DIVA is now spelling after showing signs of muscle tie-up after its recent race.

Race 1   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION. TROT
KIWI COLT - broke after 150m and shifted outwards checking outside runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Broke again leaving the final bend.
OPAWA PEAK - broke at the start losing ground. Checked by an inside runner after 150m and locked wheels with COSMIC ANGEL losing all chance.
CAEN - held up final bend. Driver B Williamson was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
WITH PURPOSE - hung inwards final bend losing ground. Driver J Smith will be spoken to regarding the manner he used his whip in the run home.
RAKERO WARRIOR - held up final bend.
CIRCUS CIRCUS - trotted roughly at various stages. Hung outwards and trotted roughly in the run home and was unable to be driven out by driver J Dunn.
COSMIC ANGEL - checked after 150m and locked wheels with OPAWA PEAK. Broke near the 2100m losing all chance.
BUTCHER KATE - trotted roughly early stages. Again trotted roughly in the run home. Driver B Orange reported the mare had hung throughout causing him difficulty.
Race 2   CUP WEEK HOSPITALITY PACKAGES- ON SALE NOW MOBILE PACE
TROUBLE SUPREME - briefly locked wheels with MAN UNITED near the 1000m.
BOBBY WATERHOUSE - over-raced through the middle stages when leading.
HE'S A RIPPER - weakened from the 600m.
MAN UNITED - trainer B Hill advised the horse has been gelded since last racing. Hung inwards and briefly locked wheels with TROUBLE SUPREME near the 1000m. Held up by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
ELEPHANTINTHEROOM - broke late in the score up losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Lay inwards final bend striking track markers when weakening.
Race 3   XCM SPORT MOBILE PACE
PLAYBOY PRINCE - weakened final bend.
SNEAK A PEEK - hampered by a breaking runner leaving the final bend.
MAJOR MEMPHIS - raced wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
MORRISSEY - when questioned regarding the performance co-trainer G Dunn advised in his opinion the gelding was coming to the end of its preparation and would be sent for a spell.
THE PEACEMAKER - over-raced middle stages. Broke leaving the final bend briefly hampering a trailing runner.
KING ARTHUR - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
OBSESSION - driver T Williams advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
ULTIMATE BIRD - held up late in the run home.
Race 4   SPECTATORS BAR HANDICAP TROT
The start was delayed one minute at the request of the TAB.
MICKEY JAY - broke rounding the final bend losing all chance.
LA DAMA - broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Broke again near the 1500m losing all chance.
DELLARIO - hampered by a breaking runner rounding the final bend.
TROT TO CHEVRON - broke rounding the final bend hampering a trailing runner and losing all chance.
IT'S SO EASY - paced before breaking racing into the first bend for a considerable distance. Hung inwards and trotted roughly near the 900m losing ground which allowed MC SQUARED to improve inwards ahead of the mare. Stewards lodged a protest against 3rd placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the mare had broken in excess of 150m in the early stages. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and driver P Davis the Adjudicative Committee upheld the protest and IT'S SO EASY was disqualified.
MISS YO - paced and then broke at the start losing ground.
Race 5   AVON CITY FORD MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed five minutes due to the protest in the previous race.
SHANIKA - over-raced middle stages.
TIGER TAYLOR - briefly locked wheels with WHERE'S DADDY rounding the first bend.
SHARDS FURY - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
WHERE'S DADDY - crowded by an outside runner rounding the first bend resulting in the gelding briefly locking wheels with TIGER TAYLOR and pacing roughly.
HARRISON - raced wide early. Driver L O'Reilly was warned for the manner he drove rounding the first bend when crowding an inside runner.
SOUNDSOFCASH - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
Race 6   FAHEY FENCE HIRE HANDICAP TROT
PARIS PRINCE - Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had not gained an advantage when hanging inwards and striking track markers leaving the final bend.
SHOW ME THE GRAY - broke briefly at the start.
WINNING BONES - weakened final bend striking track markers. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver M Williamson advised the gelding had been striking itself on various occasions and he would be considering gear changes prior to the horse resuming.
FIGHTING FIRE - trotted roughly before breaking late in the run home. Stewards lodged a protest against 3rd placing being awarded under Rule 870(5) alleging the gelding was lapped on at the finish by MY MOMENT'S NOW. The connections did not contest the protest and after viewing the replays FIGHTING FIRE was relegated to 4th placing by the Adjudicative Committee.
REPEAT PAT - hung inwards and struck a track marker which was dislodged near the 1450m. Trotted roughly final bend and in the run home.
MY MOMENT'S NOW - trotted roughly late in the run home. Driver T Williams advised the removable deafeners had not fully activated due to the cord breaking. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
Race 7   LAMB & HAYWARD PACE
The start was delayed nine minutes at the request of the TAB due to an issue with the payment of dividends from the previous race.
REBOUND - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange could offer no explanation and was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer R Todd advised he would have blood tests taken from the gelding in the coming days and undertook to notify Stewards of the results.
BEAUDIENE QUICK STEP - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. Back from its position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Paced roughly throughout.
HANOI FRANCO - weakened leaving the final bend.
Race 8   FIRST DIRECT TAXIS MOBILE PACE
A CLASSICAL ACT - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Dunn. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Under pressure from the 600m before weakening. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn could offer no explanation and was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ALTA METEOR - driver T Williams advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
TAKEMYBREATHAWAY - raced wide early and over-raced when being restrained to the rear of the field.
R K FINN - raced wide early. Under pressure from the 600m before weakening. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Williamson could offer no explanation and was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
VAN SHARD - hung outwards leaving the final bend and in the run home.
BOARDING CALL - paced roughly in the run home.
