VALYNDA - driver C Wigg (assisted by J Cox) defended a charge under Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) alleging that she shifted outwards passing the 1600m forcing MOODY RIVER (B Wilmott) wider on the track. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from all parties the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge. | |
MOODY RIVER - forced wider on the track near the 1600m when VALYNDA shifted outwards. | |
MAYBE - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer M Purvis advised the gelding had raced without luck at its last start and had made ground in the run home after being positioned towards the rear of the field. Mr Purvis added he had made several gear changes to improve the gelding's steering and the horse had received an economical run throughout. | |
WILL HE ROCK - paced roughly shortly after the start and had to be steadied. Raced wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field near the 1400m. Again paced roughly in the run home. Driver S Manawatu was warned for the manner he drove leaving the final bend when crowding an inside runner. | |
WOLFENSTEIN - shifted outwards leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer M Williamson advised the gelding had been suited to leading and being able to set a genuine tempo throughout. | |

CAB CALLOWAY - held up early in the run home. Driver A Edge defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that he drove carelessly near the 250m when allowing his runner to strike the sulky wheel of ROCK'N KIWI which punctured. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Edge the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and imposed a fine of $300. | |

PAIGE - broke at the start hampering a trailing runner losing ground. Broke again near the 2100m and early in the run home. Stood down to trial to the Stewards satisfaction on one occasion prior to resuming. | |

EMILY - began awkwardly. Paced racing into the first bend and had to be broken up by its driver before breaking. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the filly. Trotted roughly passing the 1950m after a slight easing of the pace. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in a break in the early stages. | |
