Race 2 - REGENT CAR COURT FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
Driver K Green (ELOUISA DALE) admitted a charge that she drove carelessly when crossing to the lead racing into the first bend when not sufficiently clear of KNIGHT SKY which broke in consequence with trailing runners being checked to varying degrees. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicator suspended K Green's licence to drive from the conclusion of racing on 7 July up to and including 25 August 2022 (4 days).

Race Comments

Race 1   MACCA LODGE MOBILE PACE
HUNTING WEIGHT - weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver N Williamson advised the mare had over-raced on various occasions and due to this was unable to finish the race off in a competitive manner.
TEDDY BAKER - raced three-wide without cover from the 1100m.
SIMPLY DELIGHTFULL - raced wide early. Paced roughly near the 900m when racing in tight quarters close to the sulky of RAKAJED due to a slight easing of the pace.
RAKAJED - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver C Ferguson. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide early before reaching the parked position near the 1500m. Held up leaving the final bend.
COSMIC AURUM - raced wide early. Paced roughly near the 1200m when racing in tight quarters close to the sulky of CHOGI due to a slight easing of the pace. The over-check broke during the running. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
STEEL CRUSHER - broke in the score-up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
CHOGI - broke in the score-up however was in its Unruly position at the start.
Race 2   PHILLIPS TRANSPORT/BRETT GRAY RACING STABLES MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when MUCHO FUERTE broke in the score-up checking second line runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver J Morrison elected to start from the Unruly position for the restart where the mare will remain for future mobile engagements.
MUCHO FUERTE - weakened on the final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MATAI HARRY - raced wide without cover from the 800m.
WHO'S BETTOR - Driver N Williamson was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
NINA FRANCO - over-raced shortly after the start making contact with the sulky wheel of MYDADTHETERROR and broke in consequence. Stood down to trial from a mobile barrier on one occasion to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming. Paced roughly on various occasions during the running. Broke again near the 1100m losing considerable ground.
Race 3   FPTC XMAS MEEETING AT WINGATUI 2ND DECEMBER MOBILE PACE
The start of this race was delayed 2 minutes at the request of TAB control.
BETTER GALLEON - lay inwards under pressure passing the 200m having to be steadied by driver S Ottley after placing ZIRCON LASS in restricted room.
ZIRCON LASS - raced three-wide with cover from the 1400m and then without cover from the 1000m. Briefly hampered passing the 200m having to be steadied.
TAD LINCOLN - lay outwards under pressure on the final bend.
THE OPTIMIST - raced three-wide with cover from the 1400m. When asked to comment on the improved performance driver N Williamson advised the the mare has been racing well without luck and had appreciated the drop in class of today's race.
FOXFIRE EASTON - held up on the final bend.
TINTORETTO - raced three-wide without cover from the 1400m until reaching the parked position near the 1000m.
ARLO MAGUIRE - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to take cover.
Race 4   AGRICENTRE SOUTH LTD GORE HANDICAP TROT
HARLEEN QUINZEL - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
CHEEKY MONKEY - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again leaving the final bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
ANTEROS - slow to begin. Over-raced throughout proving a difficult drive for junior driver K Tomlinson who reported the gelding had been striking its sulky wheel discs causing it to over-race.
THE BRONX BOMBER - weakened on the final bend.
MINNIE MCGOOGAN - held up leaving the final bend. Driver M Williamson was questioned regarding the tactics he adopted near the 600m when electing to remain in the running line as opposed to shifting wider on the track to obtain a clear run. Mr Williamson explained that he had previously trained the filly until recently where she had a number of traits. This included her switching off when hitting the front too early which had previously occurred in races and trials. He further added that she had performed best when being able to improve into the race with cover and be saved for one run and because of this he had been reluctant to improve wide without cover at this stage of the race. After considering the matter, Stewards noted Mr Williamson's explanation.
OUR COUNTDOWN - broke after 150m losing ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.
Race 5   WYNDHAM HRC SUPPORTING FPTC MOBILE PACE
VIN SCULLY - hampered by a weakening runner on the final bend. Held up early in the run home. When spoken to regarding the perceived improved performance trainer C Faithful advised that the gelding had been racing without luck in recent starts and she was not surprised by today's showing.
ANN MAREE - hampered by a weakening runner on the final bend.
ELOUISA DALE - hampered by a weakening runner on the final bend.
AIRWAVES - shifted outwards under pressure near the 800m. Weakened from the 400m hampering trailing runners.
BEEZ NEEZ - out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
PERCY - hampered by a weakening runner on the final bend. Held up early in the run home.
Race 6   COMMODORE AIRPORT HOTEL CHCH WINTER REWARDS MOBILE PACE
THE MIGHTY MONDO - held up on the final bend and early in the run home.
HES SANTAS EXCUSE - raced wide early. Held up leaving the final bend and early in the run home.
EMERALD ABBEY - raced three-wide with cover from the 1400m. Driver P Hunter admitted a charge that he used his whip in a continuous manner throughout the run home. After viewing replays and considering penalty submissions the Adjudicator imposed a fine of $200.
STUNIN STAR - over-raced in the middle stages.
CHANGEAROUND - over-raced through the early to middle stages. Raced wider on the track from the 1400m.
TASHS BAD GIRL - raced wider on the track near the 1400m when CHANGEAROUND shifted ground outwards from its inside. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule where, after viewing replays it was established that CHANGEAROUND had commenced to shift outwards prior to TASHS BAD GIRL reaching the sulky wheel with no further action required. Raced three-wide without cover from the 1100m. Driver N Williamson reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
CHEZZ DALE - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to take cover.
JABALI - raced wide early.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - driver J Morrison will be spoken to in the coming days for the manner he drove near the 1500 metres. Raced three-wide with cover from the 1400m.
Driver J Morrison (FRANCO HUNTINGTON) admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly when contacting the sulky wheel of TASHS BAD GIRL near the 1500m. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
Race 7   MERVYN & VAL TODD WINTER REWARDS MOBILE PACE
MAGIC SIGN - out of position at the start. Driver C Ferguson was issued with a warning.
R K FINN - held up final bend.
I'M TROUBLE - weakened from the 400m.
FIREFOREFIDDLE - paced roughly in the score-up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field.
MACANDREW NAVIGATOR - broke briefly after 150m. Held up final bend.
INSARCHATWIST - held up final bend and until late in the run home.
FOVEAUX STRAIT - raced wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field. When asked to comment on the performance trainer/driver N Williamson advised that he had difficulty steering the gelding throughout.
DANGEROUS - held up final bend.
On 16th August 2022, Trainer J Douglas advised that MAGIC SIGN had its joints treated since last racing.
Race 8   THE BOSS JO RACING WINTER REWARDS HANDICAP TROT
There was a delay to the start of this race due to the sulky having to be replaced on JORDAN ANNE.

A false start was declared when GALLEONS FUTURE reared prior to the tapes being released and swung sideways making heavy contact with WINNING BONES. Both horses underwent pre-race veterinary examinations and were cleared to start. GALLEONS FUTURE was sent to the Unruly position by Starter B Ward where the gelding will remain for upcoming standing start engagements. There was then a further delay to the start of the race at the request of the TAB.
DEM BONES DEM BONES - slow to begin.
MAKE MY DAY - broke at the start losing all chance.
JORDAN ANNE - held up rounding the final bend.
WINNING BONES - junior driver K Tomlinson reported a sulky tyre had deflated during the running.
RUBY SEDDON - trotted roughly in the run home.
AFTERBURNER - when asked to comment on the improved performance trainer B Gray advised that the gelding had been freshened since its previous start and had derived benefit from a change of training regime.
ONE MORE MOMENT - broke near the 900m losing all chance. Driver B Orange reported the mare had hung prior to breaking.
Race 9   ICON INTERIOR CONSTRUCTION WINTER REWARDS MOBILE PACE
WHATA RAZZLE DAZZLE - paced roughly in the run home.
ARTATAC - raced wide without cover from the 1600m until reaching the parked position near the 1000m. Lay inwards on various occasions during the running.
