Race 1   LIST WITH CRAIG AT HARCOURTSINV.CO.NZ MOBILE PACE
BETTER GALLEON - broke in the score-up and was several lengths out of position at the dispatch. A warning was placed on the barrier manners of the mare.
ALEXY - hung inwards rounding the first bend. Hampered by a tiring runner rounding the final bend.
GROOMSMAN - raced wide in the early stages. Weakened from the 500 metres.
JIMMY RICHTER - junior driver M Hurrell was spoken to advisedly for the manner he used his whip over the concluding stages.
VIGOROSO - over-raced in the middle stages.
MAAHES - hung inwards passing the 1000 metres placing the driver in some difficulty for a distance, then continued to hang inwards for the remainder of the event.
Race 2   MCMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS MOBILE PACE
LUCYS DELIGHT - raced wide into the first bend.
MAN I'M GOOD - held up rounding the final bend.
RAKAGEM - out of position at the start. Junior driver E Barron was issued with a warning.
INDULGENCE - held up rounding the final bend and throughout the home straight.
CRUISIN REUBEN - attempted to improve wide from the 1300 metres and was obliged to race three-wide thereafter.
ANNIE FITZ - briefly held up rounding the final bend.
Race 3   REGENT CAR COURT TROT
WHANGAMATA - under pressure from the 1000 metres and weakened from the 600 metres.
MAINLAND PAT - weakened from the 600 metres.
ROBO TROUBLE - raced wide from the 650 metres. Cleared from the Unruly for future Standing Start engagements.
EVERMORE - broke at the start losing ground. Trotted roughly through the middle stages.
JAY BEE AND LOU - hung outwards rounding the bend by the 1300 metres.
Race 4   027 633 1777 FOR CRAIG AT HARCOURTS MOBILE PACE
RACING MINISTER - paced roughly over the concluding stages.
FINN THE BELLIGERENT - trainer B Shirley was issued a warning for presenting this runner without the notified Sliding Blinds. Broke briefly passing the 800 metres when there was a slight easing of the pace in the running line, hampering a trailing runner.
IDEAL ROBYN - raced wide without cover through the early to middle stages.
TONY THE PONY - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S Ottley. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 800 metres.
GREENBACK BOOGIE - weakened rounding the final bend. Driver B Orange reported he had sustained a punctured sulky tyre rounding the final bend.
ARCO - shifted inwards over the concluding stages.
ART PROFILE - hampered by a tiring runner rounding the final bend and made contact with the sulky wheel of GREENBACK BOOGIE when in restricted room. Junior driver T Larsen with the assistance of K Larsen, was issued a warning when allowing his runner to strike a sulky wheel near the 400 metres.
REAL CHANGE - paced roughly in the score-up and was out of position at the start.
OLD LUKE - out of position at the start.
Race 5   SELLING? CALL CRAIG AT HARCOURTS MOBILE PACE
TACT EZE - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to take cover.
ARCHMAN - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination after not having raced since July 2019 and was cleared to start.
WOLF WEST - raced wide entering the first bend.
DELIGHT - obliged to race very wide rounding the first bend, then continued to race wide until obtaining the lead near the 1600 metres.
DUKE OF DUNDEE - broke the front near-side hopple carrier strap near the 50 metres with the gear subsequently inspected and found to be in previous good condition. Junior driver T Larsen was issued with a warning for failing to activate the Sliding Blinds applied to the gelding.
Race 6   CRAIG AT HARCOURTS SUPPORTS SOUTHERN HARNESS TROT
MAUDARCHY - broke shortly after the start.
MISS JESSICA - hung inwards on various occasions during the running.
TWEEDLEDEE - broke at the start.
LADY ZARA - broke at the start. Weakened rounding the final bend.
TOLKIEN - hung inwards leaving final bend. Junior Driver T Larsen will be spoken to in the coming days about his apparent lack of vigour in the home straight.
SAGE TROUBLE - held up in the early stages of the home straight.
RYDGEMONT MILLY - raced wide from the 700 metres.
TOLKIEN - Junior driver T Larsen with the assistance of K Larsen was spoken to regarding his apparent lack of vigour in the home straight. Mr Larsen advised the gelding had been travelling well through the middle stages and it was his intention to be get a cart into the race with cover which he did not receive until leaving the final bend. Mr Larsen further stated that at the 300 metres when he activated the removable deafeners TOLKIEN had initially trotted roughly and he was aware if the gelding is pushed to hard it can trot rough and break as it did at its previous start at Winton. Stewards spoke advisedly to Mr Larsen and reminded him of his obligations as a driver to drive his horse out to the finish line.
Race 7   LOOKING TO BUY? CALL CRAIG AT HARCOURTS MOBILE PACE
DARK RAGE - raced wide rounding the first bend.
TARGARYEN - raced three-wide without cover for the majority of the event. Weakened from the 600 metres. Driver K Larsen will be spoken to in the coming days about his drive.
MACK SHEER - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver D O'Connell.
I'M WATCHING YOU - held up rounding the final bend and then briefly held up in the middle stages of the home straight.
CHUCKLES - raced wide through the early stages.
TARGARYEN - Driver K Larsen was spoken to regarding his drive where he was positioned three-wide for the entire journey before weakening from the 600 metres. Mr Larsen advised that the gelding can be a difficult horse to drive particularly when it locks on as on this occasion and his initial intention was to go back and find a position on the running line which he attempted to do however the horse began to over-race. Shortly after the pace eased at which time he elected to go forward however the horse was flat from there on and unable to make any progress. Mr Larsen was advised he must make a better effort not to leave his driving open to question in future.
Race 8   MACCA LODGE MOBILE PACE
LA LA LAND - raced wide in the early stages until reaching the parked position near the 1650 metres.
WHO'S SMOKIN - lay inwards in the early stages. Raced wide entering the first bend.
COBBER KAIN - paced roughly and hung in the score-up and was out of position at the start. Raced greenly throughout and weakened from the 900 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an elevated heart rate and slow recovery. Connections were advised a Veterinary Clearance would be required prior to racing next.
ZIRCON LASS - out of position at the start.
LONGUEVAL - raced very wide rounding the final bend. When spoken to driver N Williamson explained the gelding had taken fright when another driver had yelled out.
BETA THAN LOVE - out of position at the start.
JAWBREAKER(AUS) - improved three-wide without cover from the 1200 metres.
Race 9   PHILLIPS HORSE TRANSPORT MOBILE PACE
BUCK - paced roughly and broke passing the 800 metres hampering trailing runners and losing all chance.
RAKE - hampered by a breaking runner passing the 800 metres.
FORSURE - out of position at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner passing the 800 metres.
BALIUS - out of position at the start.
Race 10   DAVEY MAC CALLS DAVID MOSS HOME BY 41 LENGTHS HCP TROT
DAVEY MAC - broke at the start losing ground. Hung outwards on various occasions during the running.
RICHARD THE THIRD - held up rounding the final bend. Broke passing the 150 metres and continued in a gallop across the finish line. Stewards lodged a Protest against 5th placing being awarded alleging RICHARD THE THIRD had breached the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking in excess of 50 metres inside the final 200 metres. Connections did not contest the Protest and RICHARD THE THIRD was subsequently disqualified by the JCA.
MISS BAMBOOCHA - broke leaving the final bend.
THAT'S THE STORY - lay outwards passing the 800 metres and again in the home straight.
RYDGEMONT SON - broke at the start losing ground.
CRUSHER COLLINS - became fractious just prior to the dispatch and backed into the 25 metre runners as the tapes were released, necessitating a false start be declared. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. CRUSHER COLLINS was sent to the 15 metre outside unruly position by starter Mr B Ward for the restart.
KING CASSIDY - broke passing the 700 metres losing its chance.
Race 11   CRAIG HEYRICK AT HARCOURTS REAL ESTATE MOBILE PACE
HOLY HAVOC - hung inwards on the final bend contacting several track markers.
VOODOO PRINCE - raced wide through the early stages.
MACH'S BACK - broke in the score-up losing considerable ground and effectively all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
GABBY'S STAR - paced roughly rounding the final bend.
DELIGHTFUL DEAL - when spoken to regarding the performance of the mare trainer/driver N Williamson advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no tangible explanation. He added that he intended having blood tests taken and would notify Stewards in the coming days of any irregularity.
STINGER LINDENNY - over-raced on various occasions during the running. Lay inwards leaving the final bend contacting several track markers.
Trainer N Williamson advised Stewards on 4 June that DELIGHTFUL DEAL has not had blood tests taken but has been treated for a hoof injury since last racing.
