A false start was declared when THE HIGHWAYMAN broke in the score up hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver T Williams elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart.

When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised he was disappointed with the effort and was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
