A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have minor abrasions to the inside of the left knee consistent with striking its knee during the running.

HERE'S JOHNY - raced wide early. Driver P Hunter was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home.

Stewards reviewed the start and were satisfied that HERE'S JOHNY, after initially laying inwards in the early stages of the score up had not proceeded forward of the mobile gate despite racing further down the track than its correct position, therefore had not started in advance of its mark with all dividends duly authorised. Driver P Hunter was advised that in similar circumstances he is to make a better effort to be in his correct barrier position at the start.

When questioned regarding the performance driver M Williamson advised the mare had worked hard in the early stages to obtain the lead and may be better suited when driven with cover. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the right front leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.

Again placed in restricted room shortly after and contacted by an outside runner, then lay inwards and paced roughly hampering a trailing runner which contacted the sulky wheel of MAGIC SIGN, resulting in the tyre puncturing. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 600m.
