When questioned regarding the performance, Mr Williamson advised that the tempo of the race made it difficult to make ground and with no established three wide line, he was unable to improve his position prior to the final bend. Mr Williamson added that despite this he was pleased with the manner in which the gelding had finished the race off.

Mr Williamson explained he was concerned that the leader would not get him to the passing lane and so when the favourite runner peeled to go wider he elected to do the same. Stewards noted Mr Williamson's comments.
