DRAGON POWER - when questioned regarding the perceived improved performance trainer J Douglas advised the gelding had benefitted from the addition of blinds and he was not surprised by the run given the way DRAGON POWER had been working in the lead up.

When questioned regarding the performance driver H Douglas advised that the gelding had raced lethargically throughout and he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.

Driver B Williamson was issued with a warning for the manner he shifted ground. Mr Williamson was also warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.

BOWLEM OVER - reared in the pre-race formation and landed in the sulky of RAKAMICK dislodging driver C Dalgety. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Mr Dalgety was examined by the St John Ambulance personnel and cleared of any injury.

Driver C Dalgety elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend. When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance trainer L Bond advised the mare had benefitted from a change in workload and the shorter distance of the race, adding he was still surprised by the forward showing today.

A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality. Stewards will follow up with trainer L Bond in the coming days.

CAPTAIN AMORE - forced BANSHEE ABBEY wider on the track rounding the first bend. Driver B Williamson admitted a subsequent breach of the Push Out Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) and after viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.

JENNY GUMP - driver S Walkinshaw reported a sulky tyre had deflated during the running.

JENNY GUMP - shifted ground inwards near the 600m placing NYLA in restricted room. After speaking with drivers S Walkinshaw and C Ferguson (NYLA) it was established that both horses had moved inwards simultaneously to take the same run with Mr Ferguson's horse being slow to respond when being restrained resulting in his runner being placed in restrcted room. Driver S Walkinshaw was warned to exercise greater care after shifting ground outwards leaving the final bend briefly placing outside runners in restricted room. When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance trainer D McLachlan advised the mare performs best when saved for one run as it was today.
