GERALDINE CLOWERS - trainer K Green was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after presenting the mare with blinds which were not notified. Hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start and broke in consequence losing considerable ground.

Retired from the race by driver B Barclay passing the 1100m with the gelding returning to the birdcage enclosure with blood present in both nostrils. A post-race Veterinary examination detected a degree of internal exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage (EIPH). Stood down for the mandatory period of 30 days with connections advised a Veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination prior to completing a satisfactory trial would be required prior to the gelding resuming.

Stewards questioned driver E Barron regarding the reason she did not shift wider on the track once MODE, which she was following, had commenced to weaken rounding the final bend. Miss Barron explained that despite her efforts she was unable to shift out due to the gelding hanging inwards and trotting roughly, adding that OUR SUPERFUND had trotted roughly on several occasions during the running. Stewards noted the comments.

MAJESTIC ME - shifted up the track in the run home and was unable to be fully driven out by driver B Williamson.

MAJESTIC ME - stood on the mark as the start was effected losing ground. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver B Williamson advised that the gelding had over-raced throughout which had taken its toll, adding he will be making gear changes. Mr Williamson also requested MAJESTIC ME be placed on the Unruly for future standing starts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a high heart rate and good recovery.
