COSMIC STAR - became awkwardly placed close to the back of the sulky of DEAN JAMES near the 200m and struck the sulky wheel which punctured. When questioned regarding this incident driver A Cameron advised that after activating the sliding blinds the horse had raced fiercely and had caused her steering difficulty resulting in contact being made. Stewards noted Miss Cameron's comments and advised her that notwithstanding this it was expected she exercise more care when shifting ground.

Lay inwards racing into the first bend striking a track marker which was dislodged. Again lay inwards near the 1500m striking track markers. Trainer/driver M Williamson advised he would be making gear changes prior to the mare resuming.
