Following the race authorisation of placings was withheld until Stewards viewed footage of the start with driver T Robertson and were satisfied the mare had not been denied a fair start.

BROWN EYED GIRL - broke near the 1700m before switching to a pace having to be broken up by driver K Green to return to its correct gait, losing ground. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.

BURNING LOVE - broke passing the 160m and continued in a break across the finish line. Stewards lodged a Protest under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation against this runner's 4th placing being awarded alleging the filly had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. After viewing replays Trainer J Douglas did not contest the Protest and BURNING LOVE was disqualified by the Stewards.
