After viewing the films and hearing from the drivers, it was established that no one horse or driver were at fault and it was deemed to be a racing incident.

ASTA - the required Veterinary Clearance was received. Lay inwards near the 250m and contacted the sulky wheel of HEZASWEETIE despite the efforts of driver R Close.

ASTA - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1100m. Commenced to weaken from the 1000m and was retired from the race by Driver B Orange. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG before completing one trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
