MIGHTY MIKI - when asked to comment on the performance trainer/driver M Williamson advised he was very disappointed and could offer no explanation. Mr Williamson reported he would have blood tests conducted on the gelding in the coming days and undertook to advise Stewards of the results.

RACIE DALE - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination and was cleared to start.

RACIE DALE - raced greenly and then paced roughly losing ground, when initially trying to shift the rapidly improving PACIFIC ARC which lay inwards, wider on the track near the 450m. Stewards spoke with drivers S Walkinshaw (RACIE DALE) and N Williamson (PACIFIC ARC) regarding this incident. After hearing from both drivers and viewing the films Stewards could not apportion blame to any one horse or driver and accordingly took the matter no further. Lay outwards and raced in restricted room over the concluding stages.

RACIE DALE - shifted inwards racing into the first bend placing an inside runner in restricted room. Driver S Walkinshaw was warned for the manner he shifted ground at this point.

HE'S ROBYN - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver M Hill. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Lost contact with the field for a distance from the 700m.

HE'S ROBYN - broke rounding the first bend and shifted out hampering trailing runners. Stood down to complete one trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming. Broke again passing the 800m losing all chance.

ANGUS FINN - trainer S Kelly was warned for presenting the gelding without the notified blinds. Broke in the score up however was in position at the start. Driver S Kelly was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.

DONALD TROT - trainer C Laurenson advised the gelding has been treated for a respiratory issue since last racing. Weakened final bend.

DONALD TROT - when questioned regarding the performance driver C Ferguson advised the gelding had failed to respond when placed under pressure and was disappointing. Trainer C Laurenson also advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.

DONALD TROT - driver C Ferguson reported he had sustained a broken wheel disc during the race.

DONALD TROT - the near side spreader came adrift during the running. The gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition. Hampered near the 1500m when SWEET NOTHINGS was taken wider on the track for safety reasons. Held up final bend.

BALTIC STAR - broke in the score up checking a second line runner resulting in a false start being declared. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Driver R Gutsell elected to start from the Unruly position for the restart where the mare will remain for future mobile starts. Broke early in the score up of the restart and was a distance back from the Unruly position at the start.

ULTIMATE WEAPON - raced wide through the early and middle stages. When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver N Williamson advised that despite racing wide in the early and middle stages he was disappointed with the effort of the gelding and could offer no explanation.

COCK A HOOP - over-raced in the parked position through the middle stages. Weakened final bend. When asked to comment on the performance driver J Cox advised that the mare had over-raced at various stages during the running and this had taken its toll.

Trainer J Douglas advised Stewards on 4 October that MACANDREW MARKUP has had its hocks treated since last racing.

CRUISING FONTANA - shifted ground shortly after the start hampering MACANDREW MARKUP which broke in consequence. Driver A Milne defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that he drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from the Stewards the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proven and following submissions on penalty suspended Mr Milne's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on the 28th January up to and including the 4th February 2024 (2 days).
