Amateur driver C Negus admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that she used her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home and then in a continuous manner. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $500.

Trainer J Douglas advised Stewards on 24 March that ALWAYS BE BATMAN has been treated for a virus since last racing.

ALWAYS BE BATMAN - lay in leaving the final bend and contacted HERE'S JOHNY which broke in consequence losing all chance. Driver N Williamson was issued with a subsequent charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that he drove carelessly in this incident. The matter was adjourned by the Adjudicative Committee to be heard on Wednesday 12 March. Continued to lay in at stages in the run home.
