LOU'S DEAL - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer/driver R Heads advised the gelding had drawn benefit from a change in training regime adding she was not surprised by the forward showing today.

RISE UP N DANCE - returned to the birdcage enclosure with blood present in its mouth. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding had a small laceration on its tongue.
SPORTY CHARLIE - driver B Morris was warned for the manner in which he drove when easing the pace after reaching the parked position near the 1900m hampering trailing runners.
KUSAMA - shifted outwards leaving the final bend contacting the front leg of PARTY UP DENARIO which broke briefly losing ground. Stewards questioned drivers C Ferguson (KUSAMA) and B Barclay (PARTY UP DENARIO) where it was established that Mr Ferguson had begun his outwards movement when sufficient advantage over outside runners existed, however PARTY UP DENARIO had been slow to react to the movement resulting in the advantage over SPORTY CHARLIE to the outside of Mr Barclay dissipating and contact being made. After viewing the replays which confirmed this Stewards could apportion blame to no one driver or horse and took the matter no further.
SPORTY CHARLIE - held up final bend and early stages of the run home. Driver B Morris reported he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
HE AINT FAKIN - switched to a pace for a distance near the 2100m having to be broken up by driver B Williamson losing ground with trailing runners being hampered passing the 2000m. Held up until late in the run home. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation and lost ground when in the incorrect gait during the running.

MOR MOONLIGHT - broke at the start losing ground. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until the Stewards had reviewed the footage and were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
MOR MOONLIGHT - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 700m. Lay inwards and attempted to ease having to be straightened by driver K Green near the 50m marginally hampering a trailing runner late in the run home.

HONEYCOMB - placed in restricted room by an outside runner racing into the first bend, then stumbled and broke hampering a trailing runner losing all chance and was retired from the race by driver N Kyle. Stewards spoke with Miss Kyle regarding this, who advised the mare had panicked when placed in restricted room and broke in consequence. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
TASHS BAD GIRL - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver N Kyle. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened final bend.
DRAGONESS - over-raced middle stages. Held up early and middle stages of the run home. Driver R McIlwrick reported he did not activate the removable deafeners as a consequence.
DRAGONESS - broke in the early stages of the score up however was in position at the start. Over-raced and hung outwards in the early and middle stages. Weakened rounding the final bend.
DRAGONESS - lay out throughout the run home having to be corrected by driver R McIlwrick. Mr McIlwrick reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
SUGAR BABE - raced wide early. Weakened final bend. Driver K Butt was issued a warning to exercise greater care when shifting inwards near the 1400m to ease another runner down the track. When questioned regarding the performance Miss Butt advised she was disappointed and was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed signs of a respiratory infection. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
SUGAR BABE - when questioned regarding the performance driver C Dalgety advised he was disappointed and could offer no explanation. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days regarding the recovery of the filly.
SUGAR BABE - placed in restricted room by an outside runner racing into the first bend. Over-raced middle stages. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange advised the filly had not been suited by racing in the parked position.
RAKAVENOM - hung outwards racing into the first bend and broke, shifting out and making contact with the sulky of ELEKTRA KING which was hampered, then further shifted out checking DAME WEST resulting in driver B Orange (RAKAVENOM) being dislodged from the sulky with both runners losing all chance. Mr Orange was attended to by the oncourse St John Ambulance personnel and cleared of any injury. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
RAKAVENOM - when asked to comment on the apparent improved performance trainer T Stratford advised the gelding had been training well in the lead up, had received a run to suit today and he was not surprised by the forward showing.
FETA GO FERNCO - held up for clear racing room over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer/driver M Williamson advised the mare had drawn benefit from an increase in its work load and had received a better draw today adding he was not surprised by the effort.
ALWAYS TICKING - when asked to comment regarding the performance trainer/driver C Ferguson advised he was very disappointed and could offer no explanation, however later reported that on return to the stabling area post-race the mare had begun to cough. Mr Ferguson further advised he will have ALWAYS TICKING undergo a veterinary examination in the coming days and undertook to advise Stewards of the findings.
SOUTHSIDE OF HEAVEN - shifted ground outwards near the 650m becoming awkwardly placed to the sulky of NEK DELIGHT and contacted the wheel of this runner with the tyre puncturing in consequence. Stewards will speak to driver M Williamson in the coming days regarding the manner he drove at this stage of the race.
NEK DELIGHT - shifted ground outwards leaving the final bend dictating CRACKER OPIE wider on the track which contacted the sulky wheel of TUA LIPA and broke in consequence. Junior driver S Hill, assisted by B Williamson, admitted a charge that he drove carelessly in this incident with the matter adjourned sine die by the Adjudicative Committee.
CAUGHT THE EYE - over-raced middle stages. Weakened final bend hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance connections advised the filly may have choked down.

JUSTA TERRA - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer R Heads advised the gelding had been unlucky at its previous start and received an economical run to suit today.
JUSTA TERRA - paced roughly after 150m having to be steadied. Held up early in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised the gelding had travelled well during the running however had failed to respond when placed under pressure and he was disappointed with the effort.
SKY PATROL - over-raced in the parked position through the early to middle stages. Weakened from the 900m. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Williamson confirmed the gelding had over-raced which had taken its toll. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality.
SKY PATROL - paced roughly rounding the first bend. Raced wide early and middle stages. Weakened from the 700m. The breast plate came adrift during the running. The gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
The start was initially delayed when Starter Mr B Ward was not satisfied with the manner runners addressed the mobile and further delayed when SKY PATROL became fractious and was sent to the Unruly by the Starter.
RIPTIDE - broke near the 1100m hampering trailing runners losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Broke again leaving the final bend losing all chance and was retired from the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high respiratory rate. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Authorisation of placings was withheld until Stewards had viewed the photo finish in conjunction with the Judge G Rowland in relation to the dead heat for 2nd placing between CLONAKILTY and RIPTIDE with all placings being duly authorised.
RIPTIDE - driver T Chmiel admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $400.
RISE UP N DANCE - placed in restricted room near the sulky wheel of WILD EAST when there was a slight easing of the pace near the 1900m. Junior driver G Goodman, assisted by N Williamson, admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly when contacting the sulky wheel of WILD EAST near the 700m resulting in the tyre puncturing and coming off the rim. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.

FOREVER ARDEN - lay in near the 1600m when attempting to take the lead having to be straightened by driver R McIlwrick. Weakened from the 700m. When questioned regarding the performance Mr McIlwrick advised the gelding had worked hard in the middle stages and this had taken its toll. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
FOREVER ARDEN - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced three wide until reaching the lead passing the 1500m. Driver R McIlwrick was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion at this stage of the race.
FOREVER ARDEN - raced wide early until being restrained to the rear of the field passing the 1800m. Held up for the majority of the run home only obtaining clear running over the concluding stages. Driver R McIlwrick reported he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
SKINNY DIPPIN - shifted outwards near the 500m checking EBONEZY and SEEKING CLARITY which broke, with MIKI'S DEAL and JUSTAWEESIP also being hampered. Driver K Green defended a charge that she drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from all parties the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and after considering submissions on penalty imposed a suspension of Ms Green's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 1 May up to and including 10 May 2026 (5 days).
JUSTAWEESIP - shied when leading passing the 1200m hampering trailing runners. Lay out at stages in the run home having to be straightened by driver P Hunter.
