WATERHOLES ROAD - raced in restricted room as the start was effected when NYLA lay outwards slightly and SEARING LIGHT shifted inwards marginally. Shifted outwards and contacted the outside sulky wheel of SEARING LIGHT near the 550m resulting in the tyre puncturing and WATERHOLES ROAD breaking in consequence losing all chance. Driver J Buckland-Stevens admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a suspension of Mrs Buckland-Stevens' amateur driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today, 4 January up to and including 14 February 2026 (3 days).

AIRWAVES - driver B Williamson reported that the gelding had felt indifferent in its action when returning to the birdcage post-race. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Driver R McIlwrick defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that he drove carelessly near the 300m when allowing his runner to contact the sulky wheel of ROBYNS HUSTLER resulting in the tyre puncturing. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from all parties the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and following submissions on penalty imposed a fine of $275.

Driver R McIlwrick was warned for failing to maintain a straight course in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance of a favoured runner Mr McIlwrick advised that the gelding may have worked too hard in the early stages.
