OUR SUPERFUND - hampered and broke rounding the final bend losing all chance. Stewards questioned driver E Barron regarding the reason she did not shift wider on the track once MODE, which she was following, had commenced to weaken rounding the final bend. Miss Barron explained that despite her efforts she was unable to shift out due to the gelding hanging inwards and trotting roughly, adding that OUR SUPERFUND had trotted roughly on several occasions during the running. Stewards noted the comments.

MARKTHEWARRIOR - broke after 120m losing ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a standing start prior to resuming. Again broke passing the 1300m losing all chance.

Stewards lodged a protest against 10th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the gelding had broken in excess of 150m during the running. Driver G Minnucci did not contest the protest and MARKTHEWARRIOR was disqualified by the Stewards.

HARRIET'S MOMENT - lay inwards over the concluding stages despite the efforts of driver M Williamson. Returned to the birdcage enclosure with blood present on its nostril. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a minor abrasion on the inside of its right nostril.

After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mrs Williamson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today 10 December up to and including 2 January 2026 (3 days).
