Driver J MacDonald was issued a warning for the manner he drove at this stage. When assessing this Stewards were satisfied there had been no consequential effects.

BILLY KIMBER - out of position at the start. Struck the helmet of driver E Johnson (HE AINT FAKIN) on several occasions rounding the first bend and again approaching the 1300m when trailing too closely. Driver M Holbrough will be spoken to regarding these matters in the coming days.

The start was delayed when the Starter was not satisfied initially with ERROL D which was fractious and also the manner in which several other horses had approached the barrier. ERROL D was sent to the outside of the Unruly runners by the Starter. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.

There was a further delay to the start due to BILLY KIMBER requiring a change of sulky due to having a punctured tyre and HARRIET'S MOMENT requiring gear adjustments.

Lay outwards rounding the final bend and then shifted inwards near the 250m placing an inside runner in restricted room momentarily which struck a track marker. Driver R May was issued a warning.

SILVERLININGS - trainer D Burrows was issued a warning for presenting the mare to race without the notified blinds. Stewards questioned driver G Smith regarding the starting position of the mare. Mr Smith advised he had been hampered by REGAL SPIRIT which was being led by the Clerk of the Course as the field turned into line which resulted in him being unable to shift wider on the track to his unruly position. After viewing the replays and considering his explanation Stewards took the matter no further other than to remind Mr Smith of his obligations.
