A post-race veterinary examination including an endoscopic procedure revealed the filly to have some respiratory tract inflammation and a slow recovery. A post-race veterinary examination revealed BROOKIES PLAYER had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG before completing one trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.

NEK DELIGHT - shifted ground near the 2000m with the sulky wheel contacting the front leg of RIGHTAZZ which broke in consequence. Driver M Hurrell admitted a charge that he drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Hurrell's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today 9 February, up to and including 21 February 2025 (3 days).

Stewards questioned driver N Williamson regarding his tactics over the latter stages in particular his decision not to utilise the passing lane when the opportunity existed, resulting in him becoming held up early in the run home. Mr Williamson explained he was concerned that the leader would not get him to the passing lane and so when the favourite runner peeled to go wider he elected to do the same. Stewards noted Mr Williamson's comments.
