Driver T Williams admitted a breach of the Push Out Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) in that he shifted ground outwards racing into the first bend forcing DENY EVERYTHING wider on the track. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200. Raced four wide for a distance passing the 1700m.

Driver T Chmiel admitted a breach of the Push Out Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) in that he shifted outwards just prior to the 1000m forcing HERE'S HERBIE to race wider on the track. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200. Mr Chmiel defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly rounding the final bend by shifting ground inwards when insufficiently clear of ROCK OR BUST (N Burton) which was checked and broke. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and both drivers, the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the charge.

THE BIG LEBOWSKI - required assistance from an attendant in the pre-race formation. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. When questioned regarding the performance Driver Z Butcher stated that he had attempted to improve three wide approaching the 1400m but forward runners shifted out off the marker line in front of him. He further stated he then attempted to improve down the back straight the final time but had been unable to hold the back of LITTLE SPIKE and had raced wide thereafter. Mr Butcher also added that he had been more than satisfied with the performance given the 35m handicap and the manner in which the race had been run.
