RIGHTAZZ - driver B Williamson admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 700m when shifting ground outwards and contacting the sulky wheel of TASHS BAD GIRL resulting in the tyre puncturing. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.

JAZZYS UPSTART - held up early in the run home and again over the concluding stages. Driver S O'Reilly advised she did not activate the removable deafeners or sliding blinds in consequence. Stewards questioned Miss O'Reilly regarding her decision in the latter stages not to shift wider on the track. Miss O'Reilly explained that with several runners in close proximity to her outside, she was uncertain whether she had sufficient advantage over those runners to safely improve wider. After considering her explanation, Stewards were satisfied her decision was not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further.

MUNROE'S MATE - shied outwards approaching the winning post on the first occasion. Shied outwards again late in the run home placing an outside runner in restricted room simultaneously to PALLADIUM laying inwards, resulting in TUA LIPA (J Cox) having to be steadied. A warning was placed on the racing record of MUNROE'S MATE. When questioned driver J Cox confirmed his chances of finishing ahead of MUNROE'S MATE and PALLADIUM had not been affected.

MUNROE'S MATE - lay in when weakening final bend. When questioned regarding the performance of a favoured runner driver S Thornley advised he was disappointed with the effort. Trainer T Barron also expressed his disappointment and advised he would have blood tests conducted on the gelding in the coming days and undertook to report any findings to Stewards.
