SILVESTER - trainer G Telfer advised the gelding has had a hock treated since last racing. Broke at the start losing ground. Broke again near the 1100m hampering a trailing runner losing all chance. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.

When asked to comment on the performance trainer/driver M Williamson advised that he had attempted to improve from the rear in the middle stages however had been unable to do so, further advising the gelding had raced greenly on occasions and had only trotted its best in the run home.

KYLE LOCH - Stewards spoke with driver N. Kyle regarding the manner she drove during the initial stages of the run home, in particular her apparent lack of vigour. Miss Kyle explained that her horse was travelling well at the time, and she did not consider it necessary to urge her runner further at that stage of the race. Miss Kyle added that she applied more urgency to KYLE LOCH once she became aware of PENELOPE LANE approaching to her outside, but did not believe that urging her horse earlier in the run home would have altered its finishing position. The Stewards accepted Miss Kyle's explanation and noted it accordingly.
