The start was initially delayed due to PENELOPE LANE requiring gear adjustments with the boring pole eventually being removed. A false start was then declared when the front line barrier strand became entangled in the legs of PRINCE RANIER.

PRINCE RANIER - trotted roughly rounding the final bend. Broke passing the 200m losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver T Williams reported the gelding had trotted roughly throughout.

PRINCE RANIER - broke at the 200m losing all chance. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised the gelding had attempted to pace on several occasions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days. Connections advised 3 March the gelding has recovered well and will continue on with the current preparation.

BRIANNA - driver D McCormick admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly when shifting ground outwards near the 600m when not clear of DELLA'S FELLA which was checked and broke. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr McCormick's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 23 November 2025 (2 days).
